This morning I was at 194.5 and feeling good. Nice chef salad for lunch. Went to buffet for dinner and NOT A SINGLE MORSEL OF FOOD WAS LOW CARB!!! I even asked the waitress about ordering an entree of grilled chicken and she looked at me like I had three heads. Said all they served was buffet. Not even a green bean in sight. Ended up picken at a piece of fried chicken and carrot salad. May not weigh tomorrow...

....But I have been very very good. It's just that my electronic scale has a little whackadoodle lately. It has to sit EXACTLY right to give repeatable results. I do have an old Sears Balance Beam Scale and it more or less agrees, but a tenth of a pound is pretty hard to read since the pointer has actually been broken for a couple of decades. A half pound is no problem.

This is the seventh and final day of my super strict KETO 20-4 I.F. pledge and I'm seeing the desired results. After the egg fast, and with this week of plan precision, the scale seems to be moving again.

Yesterday was hard though, since The Queen and I went to a Wedding Reception for one of our beloved employees. They were married in June on the beach in Cauly Phornia in a private ceremony and came back to their home Church for the party yesterday. (Weird, but whatever)

I can't complain, because unlike Bronwyn yesterday, they DID have a cheese tray!!!

I did good, as promised. Three and a half hour eating window, full-on KETO and around 1100 calories for the day. (guesstimating the cheese)

Even though today ends my Pledge 'O' Perfection week, I'm pretty sure I'll commit myself to a similar period soon. When I hit a hunnert pounds, I want to go cash in a gift card to a local steakhouse with The Queen and my daughter who will be visiting from Taos next weekend. I'll go way over on kcals that day, but I'm planning not to go off low carb. Ill ring up a big salad with whatever crap-ola fats it has in it, a normal person sized Ribeye, Green Beans or Broccoli or Cauliflower or something. Not precisely the best, but you know. I could take my own salad dressing but I do have limits.

I NEED to prove to myself I can do a Texas Roadhouse trip and not do a belly flop for a solid week. So I'm saying so, right here, right now.

You guys have the best Sunday ever!

I'm going to try to do an egg fast today and tomorrow. If I say this enough, maybe it will stick. Yesterday I went to a BBQ at the home of one of my work peeps. She has a beautiful home with a pool and park-like backyard. It's such a lovely setting. I took a relatively low carb squash casserole, but did not stick solely to low carb options. Then I snacked when I got home. I haven't exercised for days. I'm starting to feel blah.

Thanks for the encouraging words Stan. They really hit home for me. I've been struggling for nine months and haven't gotten anywhere, while others on this thread have lost 50 to 100 or more pounds in the exact same time frame. I'm really ticked off at myself and have completely given up the last few weeks and even eaten the worst food on earth for you - donuts! I think I'm going to start fresh and brand new in August with new starting stats and all. Only this group will know the truth about the recent past for me. I want to wipe the slate clean (yet again).

Kit you CAN do this! A fresh start in August is a great idea! Failure can easily become a habit, but success brings on more success. We know this...

Set a goal and tell someone you love. Heck. Make it a little goal. And make your reports daily, if they don't want you to succeed AT LEAST as much as you do...pick someone who does!

Then do it again and again!

My official weigh-in to establish July's total is really tomorrow. So I'll need to adjust the last line to reflect that number, but here it is:

Total........ 98.9

I hit it pretty hard last for the last 7 days to get my monthly 10 pounds in. But I'm happy with my effort, and I'm even MORE pleased with the results. A couple of days I went over on calories, but it was strict KETO for sure, and always in 4 hours.

And I just FEEL terrific!

I'm super concerned with my maintenance phase. See, before the snow flies, I intend to be casting a more boyish shadow than ever. BUTT staying there....that's always the trick for me, and to be honest about it, I'm sweating bullets.

I've probably lost an embarrassing total of 4 or 5 hundred pounds in my life.

So I've just GOT TO FIGURE THIS PART OUT. (It's a ways off yet.)

Let's all finish this month strong, friends.

I had a party this weekend. The stress kicked in and this is the result. I'll never give up. Low carb starting yet again today. August will be hard. I go on vacation next week. I will really try very hard this time to eat right. Going off my schedule is not good for me. No excuses, it's all me.

What is my problem??? I had a great day yesterday. I did 4 miles on the elliptical, so at least I got back to the gym. Then I roasted 2 marshmallows. Then 2 more. Then I decided the marshmallows would be better utilized in microwave rice crispy treats.... And after that, why not have a couple of hot dogs..... I recognize the carb addict when she's talking to me, but I have such a hard time resisting her sometimes. My final weigh-in tomorrow will hopefully be the same or a teensy bit less than July 1st. I MUST do better in August.

You know, it isn't CARBS that tempt me from the dark recesses of The Abyss. Oh maybe bread....but not like some of you. And I really don't care for sweets all that much. (I do put Stevia in my tea.)

So I feel for you that suffer from that stuff, I really do!

On the other hand, if I don't have that particular problem how the heck did I ever get so %*^#!* FAT!?!?!?!

A clue might be that I do SOOOOO like to eat. Just the simple act of eating seems to be more of my issue. Anything and EVERYTHING that will hold still long enough for me to get my chompers around it is fair game.


So sad.....

The good news, is I also like the foods that are better for me. For instance: meat, eggs, cheese, dark leafy greens, olives and olive oil, cauliflower, broccoli, fish and much more.

Plus, I don't really get Menu Fatigue. I can eat the same stupid stuff over and over and over.....rinse, repeat.

So as you can see, I simply have no excuse.

Wow - Has it really been 13 days since I weighed in? Well, you can see where that gets a person.

You guys are great. Thank you so much for all of the encouraging words. I actually finally made it out for a 1+ mile walk this morning. So looking forward to a fresh start tomorrow.

Stan - I think the best thing you can do in maintenance is to keep checking in daily on this thread and posting your weight. That is one big step in the right direction. You can do it this time and so can I!!

Just a dog chasing its tail. You start one medicine to take care of this thing and then something else pops up so you have another medicine. Fast forward to a new visit and the second medicine is making the first medicine do funny things to your liver. I was a healthy kid.

Hello all!
I'm back AGAIN!!
I've gotten back on induction since last Thursday, and have lost 7.6 pounds so far.
I'm gonna say this....I can't say I'm never going to gain the weight again....cause one should never say never...BUT....Since I've put back some of the weight and eating the bad carbs...I was absolutely MISERABLE! My joints and arthritis hurt so badly. For example....just this last week of eating cleanly....the pain and swelling (cankles) have decreased SUBSTANTIALLY! It just ain't worth it. I wanna lose what I gained, PLUS an additional 40-50 pounds. So if I may....could I follow along with y'all next month?
