My recipe calls for browning and draining the ground beef, then adding 2 Tbl sesame oil to the cabbage to cook it. Did you add oil back in?

1 lb ground beef, browned and drained
2 Tbl sesame oil (I like half sesame oil half butter)
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 green onions, sliced or 1/4 c diced onion
14 oz coleslaw mix or about 1/2 a large head of cabbage
2 Tbl low sodium soy sauce
good dash of crushed red pepper flakes
a few shakes of hot sauce
splenda to taste, I use 1 packet but others use more
a slice or two of fresh ginger root or 1/2 tsp ground ginger
a splash of vinegar, and sometimes it needs a splash or two of water to get the cabbage to cook right.

Remove beef from pan, wipe out pan, cook cabbage about 10 min with the seasonings, adding vinegar or water if it gets dry. Add hamburger in, adjust soy sauce, sometimes wants a little more butter added in or some more hot.
Keep calm and carry on.
