The 36 hours just means from the time you finish your UD eating (say 8:00 p.m.), then you have your 500 calories or whatever on your DD, then have breakfast (say 8:00 a.m.) on your UD and that's 36 hours. You don't have to completely fast for that time, just have your DD calories.
That's what I was wondering too Dawn. It did sound as if she was waiting 36 hours and then starting a DD..........
