I love jump rope - I have to start much shorter time than you - I skipped last year, not a lot, took me a while to work up to a minute lol, but even that much damaged my ankle enough that I could not walk let alone skip. I will start again, but muuuuuuuuuuuch less. I figure 10 jumps a few times a day to start. It is not low impact, at least not when you are heavy and ungainly. Is for those that barely leave the ground to skip.
