Consider trying JUDDD, which is alternate day calorie cycling, without any restrictions on what you eat. Eating very low calorie only every other day gives you lots of choices in terms of what you eat, but also has some health benefits. I do a lowcarb version of JUDDD, but many others on the JUDDD board eat rice and bread sometimes, on their "up" calorie days and are able to eat like the general culture for some meals.
