hi! congrats on the lower number, but you are right not to be satisfied. I have never gotten as low as 5; 5.4 was my standard for awhile, now it seems up a bit, but still well under 6. That should be your limit--keeping it under 6 for sure. That standard of 7 or less for diabetics is just wrong. There are still problems at that level.

However, now that I think about it, Jenny at BloodSugar101 says that high post prandial readings are the bigger problems, not A1c per se. try to keep it under 140 at all times, if possible.
