My calculator numbers are 350/1750 which is what I started with. Then I got the book and read it and Dr. J suggested 500 calories using shakes, so I did the induction over using 500 calories and lost. I dropped DD's to 350 and most days lower and started having problems losing. I just bounced up and down almost all of February. Raised my numbers to 500/1900, included more carbs and started losing again. So I believe the numbers are a very personal thing.
I find DD's easy. I have a pretty set menu so don't have to think much about it. UD's are an other story but I have finally reached the point where I can eat one cookie or one GOO GOO Cluster and not want more, more, more.
I will stick to 500/1900 until I stop losing. Then I will reconsider my numbers.
My losses are slow but they are steady and I am happy.
