The Great Carb Cutback
I suspect most people on here are past being beginners, but I just stumbled across a book I wish I had had when I was starting low carb. But, having said that I still found a lot of good information in it.
It's called The Great Carb Cutback, and is available as a downloadable pdf. It is written by a former journalist who apparently had a bit of an epiphany with low carb, and is now sharing his experience with others. It has everything you need to get you going . . . from his personal experience, to how you can do it, to why you want to do it. In fact, the book is subtitled How To Live A Low Carb Lifestyle and Why You Want To. What I like about it is it takes a lot of complex information (like scientific studies) and, without dumbing it down, makes them interesting and easy to read. While it isn't Gary Taubes and Good Calories Bad Calories (which may be the best book I've ever read about low carb), it is perfect for someone who just wants to know how to start and continue and a little bit of the why. I think the website is fairly new -- it has been changing and growing every time I've visited over the past week or so. I just found it by accident when I was googling something else, and I wanted to share so others could check it out. Bruce |
