Gary Taubes all the way. After another failed low calorie, low fat diet with NO RESULTS, I stumbled across Gary's book. It was like a lightbulb blinking to life inside my head. Everything that I'd thought about dieting was wrong. He explained things so clearly that I couldn't NOT listen to him. Everything finally made sense!

Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades opened my eyes to the truth.

Dr. Atkins has guided me along the way.

Linda Sue's wonderful work has saved me from boredom.

Dr. Robert Atkins is the first and foremost without him I would still be fat and searching for the answer. Secondly all those who have come after and carried the torch of low carb. Thirdly all the wonderful cooks here and on low carb sites who have made low carbing so very easy by their willingness to experment and to share their results both good and bad.

The Hellers' Carbohydrate Diet was the first LC book I ever read and it woke me up to the nonsense that was low fat, high carb and what it was doing to my blood sugar. I was low fat dieting at the time.... I would drink a Slimfast shake and then go out for a walk in the morning. I would turn around and come back home shaking and sweating. I had my Slimfast powder on the counter next to Nestles Quik- I noticed the nutritional profile was about the same..... sugar.

I followed CAD for awhile and felt 10000% better, but didn't lose any weight. I read Protein Power and DANDER and I was off.
