The Beck Diet Solution
Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person
I am about 1/3 of the way through this book. I'm not big on psychology, but really like this book. You can use it with any diet plan. The biggest eye opener for me, so far, is not eating while I am standing up! I've been catching myself doing that a lot ever since I read about it. The first thing you do is write out a list of why you want to lose weight, then read that every day. Then the book teaches you to eat slowly and be aware of what you put into your mouth, planning what you are going to eat, scheduling exercise, emotional eating, changing your mindset, and more. Great book for those of us that have forgotten how to be strong in our eating habits. I say that because when I was a kid, I just didn't really care about food like I do now. I have it too and the eating while standing up thing was an eye opener for me too. I have not finished the book and I'm not big on the index card thing but I think if I really stuck to it it might help me. Overall I would recommend it.

I did some of the index cards. Today was my first day on a "diet" - day 15. I'm doing the colon cleanse from the "Coconut Diet." Another thing that really helps me with the book is learning the difference between a craving and true hunger, and if I am hungry, that it's not going to kill me to wait another hour to eat. I made a scale of my comfort levels, and most of the time my discomfort is under 3. I compared it to being around my mom
. I found the book in the library, and ended up buying it.Criosa |

Great book about using cognitive therapy for weight loss. I have the book, the book on CD and the workbook. I highly recommend it.
