Dr. Phil's book on Healthy Eating

Hey,
What are the prinicipals of this? I have a friend asking me what I think of this program(?) is that what it is? and I don't know anything about it.
I am trying to get her to research different ways of eating to see what she can live with. I am pretty much an Atkins girl myself, and stuck to '72 Atkins and Kimkins during weightloss. But everyone's different.
What are some good books to suggest to her?

Not a Dr Phil fan, but I highly recommend the Dr Oz: You on a Diet book. Great info, even if you are a low carber and dont follow his food plan.

I did ok on Somersize a few years back , if you can handle the carbs that are allowed. Frankly , I cant do it right now , cuz even the allowable oatmeal & no fat breakfasts would set me off on a carb binge right now. But I know others who this works for because your allowed fruit in the beginning.

I am not a fan of Dr. Phil at all. But I have no idea what kind of eating he promotes, and I was wondering if anyone knew.
I've heard interesting things about sommersizing. Also "Fit for Life" ? I think that's what it is.
Dr. Oz, what kind of a plan does he promote?

It's true that sometimes he can be a bit arrogant, but he also gives a lot of good advice. I'm not necessairly talking about diet advice, although I'm sure the advice is sound for those that can handle the carbs in their diets. I can't.

I read it. It is basically the pyscholgy behind being overweight and how to overcome the whole weight issue. It was interesting but basically the same old stuff. Find out what the problem is and fix it, basically. Didn't help me, but not saying it couldn't help someone.

The book is more about the mechanics of what happens to food traveling through the body. Its very interesting. The diet plan itself focuses on fruits, vegetables, lean meat, and whole grains. Its similar to South Beach.

Dr. Phil's book on Healthy Eating

Worth reading. It reinforces the basic principals of weight loss.
Particularly about finding the 'why?' and 'creating a fail safe environment'.
