Seeking information on THE CURE: Shakes!
Hi guys and gals,
I am thinking about buying this book and giving it a shot. I think that lower calorie 3 shakes + a lean and green meal a day would be perfect to boost off my diet. Can anyone advise me on the Shake portion, where to buy, what to buy? Please, please. This will greatly help me this weekend when I go shopping for the food. I plan on getting the book asap. But were waiting on our paychecks.... I wanted to pre-prepare. Usually reading these type of books give me strength to start the diet asap. THANKS! PS I get this part: 1-3 scoops WHEY POWDER (based on your current weight) (but what shake?) 2 TBLS HWC or Coconut Milk 3/4 cup water & ice Is there name brands specifically named? Does it matter? Can I buy them at GNC, Walmart or ??? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The brand is not important. If you read through the main thread you'll see many different brands mentioned. It's personal taste. You will find some at WalMart, health food store & supplement stores like GNC also carry several kinds.
You want a whey protein powder that does not contain aspartame. It should have no more than 3g carbs per serving. I am using Jay Robb whey protein powder. It contains 1g carb per serving. I found the best price on it to be at Vitamin Shoppe. I do suggest sitting down with the book before you start (you can do this at a bookstore without buying it) so that you can get all the rules straight. Come join us in the main thread, too. ![]()

Okay thanks! I did buy a can of whey protein shake. It has 3g of carbs, .5 fiber. And just 2g of Sugar. It also has several vitamins. I will look into the book tomorrow. I couldn't tonight because I had to grocery shop. When I went to Walmart I forgot completely about looking in the book section by the time I was done... I just wanted out of there!! YA KNOW!
I got at RiteAid (GNC section) Designer Whey. 100 calories. 100% Whey. Chocolate flavor. 18g protein, 2g sugar, 2g fat. I didn't read thru the entire post, because its like 18 pages long now. And I didn't have time earlier. I'll skim it closer tonight, after the baby's in bed. Sadly I need help now, not tomorrow, not next week either... I have diabetes, I'm sick MOST days. I'm exhausted! I'm also fed up with conventional thinking as far as diets go! Last edited by Kisha; 10-02-2009 at 09:13 PM.. |

I use the Isopure Zero Carb Protein Powders. You can order online at Vitamin Shoppe for a good bargain.

After extended research...
I ended up purchasing the "Show me the Whey" Protein Powder made by Boise's local store, The Co-op. 33$ for twice the size of the designer whey and it was more servings for the buck. Plus it tastes totally awesome! 3g net carbs only. Which is just fine as far as the program goes. I personally like to buy local. I don't typically do any purchasing over the internet anymore. Too many company's and too many scams. Once you give that CC up it can be a pain to get your money back if they over charge or hidden repeat charges. I only order from company's that I absolutely know and trust. Thanks for the tips though. I really do appreciate it! |
