What do you mean what happens?
This is a short-term jump-start, not a long term lifestyle change... weeks 1 and 2 are 3 shakes + 1 meal weeks 3 and 4 are mostly meat and some veggie, no dairy weeks 5 and 6 i think are when you go into "regular low carb" eating and then you just keep doing it... or you can go back and repeat weeks 1 and 2, then weeks 3 and 4 until you reach your goal. Or some people alternate shake weeks and meat weeks (instead of 2 weeks of each) |

WOE: Meeme's Ever-Evolving LC Plan
Start Date: 9-22-09

Well, believe it or not, I hit 170 this morning. I have definitely decided though to stay on the 2 or 3 shakes and a LC meal for a while until I get some more off, rather than move to Weeks 3 and 4. So, I'm joining in on a new thread in Low Carb Challenges called 2 Shakes and a LC meal. It is a carry-over from the one I posted about yesterday.
Emily-- will keep checking in with you. When do you start on the meat/eggs weeks? I like this thread, but hope you come visit on the new thread too. I just have too much weight to lose, and right now I need to stay with what is working. Thanks so much for your help on the numbers. I have figured out that I definitely lose better if my fat is around 65%, protein around 30% and carbs around 5%. I am so much more satisfied and really not hungry. I give Dr. Eades 6WC full credit for helping me break my stall and keeping me from giving up completely. Even though I'm not moving on to Weeks 3 and 4, I still consider myself doing the 6 Week Cure (or my version anyway). I just think for me staying on the Weeks 1 and 2 plan is better for me right now. If I stop losing, then I will move on. Maybe I'll just call my WOE plan the "Meeme's version of 6WC/Atkins/PP and Any Other LC Plan Out There".......because believe me, I have read and tried them all!!

Phyllis, now that this two weeks is over and my husband is coming home, I'm going back to regular low-carb eating. Not doing the meat weeks or any of that... I said that when I joined this thread, that it was going to be a temporary 2-week thing for me.
So I probably won't be on the board much either, but y'all can keep up with me on my website Joyful Abode: Domesticity by Trial and Error where I'll be posting low-carb recipes and writing about what's going on with me lately. |

Joyful Abode
Emily -- I finally looked at your website and have bookmarked it. You have some great recipes and ideas. Oh, by the way, you are really beautiful.
I'm going to just stay over on the 2 shakes & a LC meal thread. Yesterday I hit 170 (now today it climbed back up a pound, but we won't talk about that.) I have also been eating a few snacks in between (LC of course). So far so good. I hope I can get to goal this time. I am really doing everything I can to try to do this. So wish me luck. Glad your hubby is coming home. Phyllis |

Enova is still available in stores here, too. I'm not sure how long production will be halted.

Hello, Wakey Wakey Shakes and Breaky!
I didn't feel like reading 32 pages of this thread and thought I'd just get to the point. How many of you did this actually work for? Did you lose Inches like you expected? Were you Satisfied? The thread Dropped so suddenly in November of 2009 and then February of 2010. Has no one tried this since then? Were people unsatisfied or so satisfied they didn't need to keep posting cause their Six weeks were up? Where is Everyone? What Happened? Hmm, maybe I'll start reading from the beginning to see how it went but sheese 32 pages is sooo longggg!

I decided not to do it, because it gets expensive making shakes so much. Since I'm budgeting, I decided to go JUDDD for now. When I have a little more money to play with I'll buy my favorite whey protein and try this out, but that's not in the near future.
Thanks for asking. I wish this idea would revive, but it seems it was sorta faddish. |

Hey, rqw, I'm at the beginning of my 2nd week on the 6 Week Cure. I lost over 3 pounds in the first week, but not a bit of it was off my middle. My waist, abdomen, chest, etc. all measure the same as they did when I started. I'm not sure where the 3 pounds came from. The 6WC seems very "faddish" to me, but since I'm more than halfway through what I view as the hardest part, I'm going to finish it and see what the final results are. I can't wrap my mind around what is so different about this plan (as opposed to the pretty strict low carb I was already doing) that I'm going to lose any significant amount of fat from my abdominal area - and so far I haven't. Time will tell.
