Thank you! I love making web graphics and that is one I made from one of my sites.

The last couple of days carbs have dared to come into my mouth. I fought but lost. I guess one good thing is that it wasn't an overload and I got right back eating lc. I've been eyeing the EFGT thread. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I'm getting too much protein. I know PP is fairly big on it, but maybe my body doesn't do well on too much? I know that the dietary fat I eat keeps me the most satisfied of anything I eat. I'm a couple years older than you and mostly post-menopausal (one slips in here and there). After eating lots of protein on Atkins and PP, wouldn't it be something to find out if I lowered it I might lose?

I'm going out of town so I think I'll take the next few days to regroup and rethink all this stuff. Oh, and I'm sure you losing those 10 lbs. by your b-day is very doable!!

Vanilla Latte:

I only recently learned that too much protein gets converted to glucose (sugar) for storage which really surprised me. It was from a couple of sources. I usually don't pay much attention to just hearing anything once but twice, maybe. So, now I do believe one can get too much protein which then would detriment weight loss. Another consideration even the Eades say is that total calories in/out do count. Atkins said it too. So, perhaps if you cut back on your protein say by 1/3 and still stay within the parameters of the 30 grams a day - it will quicken your weight loss.

So, far this week I have not been on plan but cutting back on portions to keep my calories within a 1500 range. Social events have been carbing me out and I don't feel like eating before hand. I still have my eye on the scale and so far I"m holding steady.

I'm peri-meno and still get TOMs regularly and I know my hormones since peri started in my early 40's has made me hard to go below 140. My weight at the lowest has been 139 for about a minute - mostly it shifts 4 lbs up and 4 lbs down but still better than when I didn't diet. I know I've got to amp up my exercise to more than a couple of days a week. Exercise seems to be the advice across the board for us middle agers to get our metabolisms moving faster.

Yep, I was reading the same thing about the protein thing with the Eat Fat Get Thin plan. EFGT seems to be alot like PP actually. The carb allowance is higher, but I'll be keeping lower; the fat allowance seems to be a little higher. Fat does keep me more satisfied than protein and I guess that's why I might give it a go. I dunno, sometimes I think weight loss for me is a pipe dream. I get tired of counting, weighing, measuring, so many carbs/protein for this meal, etc. In a perfect world, it'd be great to just lower the carbs period and the pounds would fall off. If I could get my toes into Onderland, I think they'd be hope for me yet!

I'm also going to HAVE to weigh everyday since I'm still trying to gauge if going up/down in cals works (or not). I've never been able to get a handle on what works and what doesn't. I'm almost envious of people who know what stalls them. I've never lost enough to ever find out!

I'm hoping to get back to exercising somewhat regularly next week.

Good job on holding steady even with the carbing out!
