Starting PP with my dh

My dh and I are both starting to follow PP--we are reading Protein Power Lifeplan (well, I am, and I tell him what I've read). We did it for a week with a lot of cheating, and still both of us have lost some (inches for me, pounds for him) and we're determined to do better and not cheat so much--it's taking us a while to get all the junk out of our house. Lots of bad habits to change. We just got back from a weekend at MIL's house where we heard things like "you can eat this... a little of that won't hurt you... why aren't you "allowed" to have this? ... for crying out loud, this won't make you fat... oh, don't eat too much protein, you'll destroy your kidneys..." So we know that everything that came out of that woman's mouth was untrue (except she's a believer in free range eggs) but it's still hard to listen to it for 3 days. We had to go out and buy vegetables so we'd have things to eat, because the only veggie in her house before we got there was carrots. Sigh... Anyway, we're excited about this and excited to be working together, trying to find ways to help each other stay on plan and not be so tempted.

Just hang in there and keep plugging away. A slip up does not spell failure. Do the best you can. If you do cheat don't let it tear you down. Just put your nose back to the grindstone and continue with the plan.

To many people beat themselves up because of a cheat or a week of no weight loss. Don't let these things get you down. No weightloss lookout forward to the next "whoosh" It'll happen. Good luck and KUTGW!!
