Was this a mistake?

During our (W & I) induction and after we ate hugh amounts of suger free candy. My DW never really lost much weight and stuggled to keep it off. Was all the suger free candy a contributing factor (she did consume much more than me)? We are both starting induction again and she keeps saying that she never got the results for all the work she put in, and she has reservations about trying again. I would like for her to feel like she is getting something for the effort, but I'm at a loss as to why she could not lose as I did. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say it could have been the problem. A lot of us no matter what plan we are on struggle when we eat things with the artificial sweetners. All though I am on Atkins, I did much better the first time because I didn't drink the diet pop or have all of the so call acceptable snacks. I also stop chewing the sugar free gum. Just tell her to try and alleviate those things and a great result will happen.

Thanks for the reply. She has been doing pretty good so far. I know I drink too much diet sodas, and eat too much suger free candies.

Lots of sugar free candies contain sorbitol or maltitol, also known as sugar alchools. If your doing induction I would be very careful with them.
Maybe a candy every 6 hours if at all......
