3 weeks into pp plan and still no real weight loss...help

HELLO I'M NEW TO THIS FORUM BUT I'M NOT NEW TO PROTEIN POWER. ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO I DID IT AND I LOST 50LBS AND KEPT IT OFF. BUT THEN I GOT PREGNANT AGAIN AND LOST THE BABY WEIGHT THEN MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY AND I SLOWLY GAINED IT ALL BACK. I KNOW THIS DIET BACKWARDS AND FOWARDS BUT I STILL FEEL LIKE I'M DOING SOMETHING WRONG. I HAVE ONLY LOST 3 LBS. I HAVE REFERRED BACK TO THE BOOK SEVERAL TIMES. I AM SURE I'M GETTING THE REQUIRED DAILY AMOUNT OF PROTEIN DAILY. I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING TO GET THE 25GRAMS OF FIBER DAILY. BUT I COME CLOSE TO IT. COULD THAT BE PART OF MY PROBLEM? I HAVE ALSO BEEN PRETTY GOOD WITH THE 30G OF CARBS A DAY, EXCEPT FOR ONE DAY A WEEK WHEN I TREAT MYSELF TO SOMETHING GOOD. BUT I DON'T CHEAT ON ALL 3 MEALS. I'LL HAVE A GOOD BREAKFAST AND THEN MAYBE FOR LUNCH I'LL HAVE BURGER KING OR SOME TYPE OF FAST FOOD. AND THAT'S IT. AND THAT'S ONLY ONCE A WEEK. COULD THAT BE MY NEXT PROBLEM? IS ANYONE GOING THROUGH OR HAVE GONE THROUGH THIS SAME DILEMMA???

I have to say that I think that the once a week high-carb is the very first thing to suspect as being the culprit. PP doesn't allow for a "meal off" each week--there are some plans that do, but PP doesn't. For some people that kind of thing will work, but for the vast majority I'd say it doesn't. My suggestion would be to do the plan without the weekly high-carb meal and see how you do. All the best and I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. Stress can play a role in making weight hard to lose, but my first line of defense would be to follow the diet as written.

I SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO CHEAT ONCE A WEEK. ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST 4-6 WEEKS OF PHASE ONE. I KNEW THE ANSWER I GUESS I JUST WANTED TO HEAR IT FROM SOMEONE ELSE. I ALSO LEFT OUT THE FACT THAT FOR THE FIRST 2 1/2 WEEKS I WAS ONLY GETTING ABOUT HALF THE RECOMMENDED FIBER. I BELIEVE FIBER PLAYS A BIG ROLE IN THIS WAY OF EATING. BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE REPLY. I'M NEW, AND I WOULD LIKE TO USE THIS SITE AS MY SUPPORT BECAUSE I REALLY HAVE NO ONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THE IMPACT OF THIS WAY OF EATING. AND IT'S GOOD TO HAVE PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND

Well, I do understand all of it...all too well the ups and the downs and the lack of understanding from friends and family, and am happy to offer help and support!

I'm curious as to where the 25 g of fiber recommendation came from in Protein Power? I don't seem to recall that from any of my PP/PPLP books, but I haven't read them in a while, so I could have just forgotten. At any rate, here's an article written by Dr Eades himself that should help you to feel better about fiber...or rather the lack of it...in your diet.

WOW THAT ARTICLE TOTALLY CONTRADICTS WHAT THEY SAID IN THE PROTEIN POWER BOOK I HAVE. MAYBE I NEED AN UPDATED VERSION. BECAUSE I AM 100% POSITIVE THAT THE PP BOOK SAYS DAILY REQUIREMENT OF FIBER IS 25G. WHICH IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT. YOU KNOW HOW MUCH GREENS YOU HAVE TO EAT TO GET THAT MUCH FIBER. I GUESS I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THAT NUMBER. I GUESS I'LL JUST STICK TO GETTING MY FIBER FROM JUST VEGETABLES AND MY FAVORITE LOW CARB BREAD AND CALL IT A DAY. I REALLY DON'T NEED THE SUPPLEMENT TO MAKE UP FOR 12G FO FIBER A DAY. MR. EADES HAS BEEN DOING HIS RESEARCH AND HAS CHANGED HIS MIND TOTALLY ABOUT FIBER!! WOW

They've actually "updated" their position about several things since the PPLP book...his blog is a good way to keep up with they're doing currently. I hear they have a new book coming out, but I'm not sure what it is or what it's about.

I believe going by memory if it serves me correctly, 25g would be protein not fiber.

IN MY VERSION OF PROTEIN POWER BOOK THERE WAS A DAILY REQ OF 25G OF FIBER. 25G OF PROTEIN WOULD BE TOO LITTLE UNLESS YOU MEAN PER MEAL. THEN THAT SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT. BUT I'VE JUST LEARNED THAT DR. EADES HAS CHANGE HIS POSITION ON FIBER REQ DAILY
