Elaine: I feel for you, and I do the same thing. Today, I am bringing the amts. to the minimum protein grams on PP but I'm going to also try low-fat along with low carb. This is just ridiculous, but I have to keep cycling amts. to keep the losses going.
I've been experiencing those stall-gains all thru November and keep hanging around the same wt. I went up again a little bit, and today only lost .2 of a lb. It is definitely water retention... Now I have 7 lbs. to go to return to the 100 lb. loss.... ![]()

100 lb loss, how great is that!!!!!Congratulations, and hope you are back to that benchmark within days.
I think that I will take 2 days a week, at least, and just get really strict and have just protein those days. (like almost no carb) and then have my regular Atkins food on the between days, which are apt to be the ones where I am away from home.(My downfall). I stick with Atkins, but who knows what is in restaurant food, really. I can maintain eating that way, but seem to stall. I'm hoping the strict between days can blast things back into a losing mode. Also simplify things for myself, if it gets too complicated I get into trouble, too. I also need to get back to the food journal, been neglecting that the last couple weeks, and I am back to a stall again. Good luck with what you are doing, all of you. Elaine |

Hi!
I've been gaining/losing the same 1 or two pounds the last few weeks. Can't seem to really stay on track. I added some foods back in and was Ok the first day or so, then BAM! major cravings, some binges (mostly bread!). I know I've been stress eating and that is always my downfall. I want to break out of the 160's, but keep stalling from my actions. I'm back to more of an induction level carb right now to get the cravings back under control. Maybe it'll break the cycle, too. Just wondering, with so many plans on this site, do you find that constantly changing (every few weeks of so), keeps the numbers going down? I know some people do EFGT, some Atkins, some PP. Funny thing is, I can't imagine eating low fat again... even though I pulled out all my books and was seriously considering it. Can you tell I'm struggling?! |

I can identify with that, I have a whole bookcase full of diet books, I think I learned something from all of them, always go back to lowcarb. I still am learning that there are some foods I just have to stay away from, still not sure about some. I know sugar for sure, of any kind.
I think going back to less than 20 carbs a day really helps jolt me out of stuckness. But I can only stay there so long, not even sure if I should, Atkins seemed to think one should start adding carbs back. Really is individual, and don't even think it works the same way twice for me. sigh. Oh, well, got to keep trying. |

Hi all! I'm a follower of the PPLP and the good doctors Eades! I'm stalled right now (2 weeks grrrrr!) so I'm not a happy camper. But, when I look at my daily plate I think I've been going overboard on the carbs a bit and using too many protein shakes. Darn that freakingly unbelievably delicious DaVinci Egg Nog SF syrup!
![]() Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and let you know I'm PP girl! |

Well, my gain/stall finally adjusted, and I am 1 lb less of me, which sounds pretty small, but I am happy to have it going down at all. My attitude is doing very well, concentrating on getting my minimum protein in, and minimum, minimum carbs for now. Since my gain stall was 10 lbs this time, I really have to face the fact that I really can't deal with many carbs at all.
plan for rest of dec.-write down everything, keep the protein up, only carbs to be allowed veggies-for the rest of month, anyway. might start checking on increasing slowly in Jan, like we are supposed to. Water, water, water. Good luck everyone. |

Happy Holidays to you, as well!
I shook things up a little the past couple of weeks. Stopped taking my CLA and Gla combos, and I had been trying another supplement Fuco-Thin for about six weeks. I had been losing slowly, a few pounds a month on average. I decided to stop all of the above mentioned, and I've dropped several pounds. As of today, I down to 154.5. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic! I don't know what has caused this, but it's given me the incentive to keep going to goal of 135. Hope to reach it before spring. Have a great holiday! Oh, one of my family favorite recipes for green beans is really easy to make. Take french cut green beans, cook until tender/crisp. You can use frozen or fresh. Sautee some garlic in olive oil, don't let it brownAdd a can of plum tomatoes that have been cut into pieces. Reserve the liquid, just add the tomatoes. Add oregano to taste (varies with fresh or dried) and let simmer until tomatoes have cooked down. You can add additional salt if you like. If you like moister version, add the liquid to the mixture. This is supper easy to make, you can make ahead of time and warm up and leftovers are still very tasty. To make a large pot, use a whole bag of frozen green beans and a large can of plum tomatoes. Don't use tomatoes that have any basil or italian spice in it already, it changes the taste. Oregano and fresh garlic only! |

I remember you saying that is another thread! I was afraid to stop, afraid of stalling or getting out of control. I noticed that I was having some hair los too and came across information on line that it could be the FucoThin and decided I needed to stop everything for a while. So, you made me brave!!
Your posts are always very imformative BTW, thanks for being such a supportive member! |

Back again, holidays were not too bad for me, kept mostly to protein power and IF. Need to clean up with a couple really strict days, before Monday rolls around. Hope everyone had a good couple weeks.

Another year-looking forward to eating better and therefore feeling better in 2008. Will be doing PP and Atkins combo, seems to be what works the best for me. Best of luck to all of you EAdes fans.

Happy New Year to All
Hope everyone had a great holidays season and survived the inevitable "gain".
I took off a few days, gained a few and have relost them. So frustrating.... really want to get out of the 150's and seem to be hanging on for dear life! I guess now is the time to incorporate the exercise into my plan. I keep planning on it, but never seem to get going. Time to dust of the Gazelle and start again. Wish I hadn't given away my exercise bike. I also have some DVD's, but I'm a bit of a klutz with the dance moves, so, have to do that behind closed doors! ![]() Have a great day everyone! |

Hey, that's the time to dance, when no-one is around.lol. I shuffle around the kitchen to my favorite tunes while cleaning up, etc. Figure it is just as good as walking around the mall, and cheaper.
My holiday wt is going or gone, but slow getting back in the groove for me, too, wonder what it is about December, even when I am pretty good at avoiding most of the carbs and calories, I still put on a few pounds. Oh, well, it will be gone by Monday. Will see you folks back here. |

Happy New Year, Elaine and everyone! Well, starting on New Year's, I followed an Atkins 72 type menu and dropped 5 lbs. as of today (Jan. 4).
For today, my plan was similar to Elaine's - a combo of Atkins with the help of PP. But I did get myself into trouble because I snacked on Spanish peanuts (whoops). That got my carbs up to 44 total and my fats up to 131 (yikes), which brought my calories way too high for the day. I hate that - I've been so good since May but lately I'm craving nuts of all kinds - it must be time to up my magnesium intake! Anyway, I stopped myself and went straight to protein for dinner. The totals for today were high but I'm hoping I'll maintain tomorrow. |

Hi-just had my zerocarb protein shake to start my day, planning on having a couple days just strict protein and as few carbs as I can-last week my wt was down 3 lbs, ate just a little bit of potatoes in a soup, bang-gained back 5- and I am still messed up (feel rotten) can't believe how super-sensitive I am to certain foods. Anyway, these hi-pro days will take off that water.
I really need to not be such a people pleaser when I am eating out. What a wimp. Good luck to everyone in this new year. Elaine |

Nitenurse - I know exactly what you mean about being a "people pleaser"! I was always so worried when going over to MIL house for dinner - because I know she always cooked a lot of food that I could not eat. I would always worry about it a week before the dinner. Then, one day - I thought - I am no longer going to try to please people and eat foods I shouldn't - just to make someone else happy! My MIL was trying to lose weight too and would eat very tiny portions, but tell everyone else - to "eat up, eat up"! Well, I caught on to the plan and thought - I am only going to eat the foods I want to eat and very tiny portions. No one has even noticed me doing this, and instead of a gain of a few pounds just because I was trying to make someone else happy - I actually still continue to lose - even after eating at someone's house or at a restaurant!
I guess I finally have put my foot down and said I'm going to make myself happy for once and not others!

Hello All,
Been slow here on the thread, but I see we're all sticking to plan. I'm finally doing PP - for real. Tired of going on and off and having my weight jump around, too. Enjoying the addition of fruit and the occasional grain. I've lost all my holiday weight and a few more too. Finally hit the 50 pound mark and decided to change my stats. I was going to get to 135, but have decided 125 would be better. It'll be over 20 years since I saw that weight. I'm bound and determined to get healthier this year, life is too short! I've been checking out another site that just focuses on Protein Power. Another good place for recipes and support. Have a good day! |
