Hello out there! How is everyone doing?
I've lost 1% body fat this last month. The pounds might not be dropping, but Protein Power is working for me. I am definitely getting smaller. Smaller is good. Anyone else being successful? |

I"m experimenting with Intermittent Fasting (see Dr. Mike's blog for info). Doing amazingly well since I lose so slowly. 5 pounds for the month of September, but the first week was a gain. I fast on M-W=F until 6:30 pm. Eat a regular meal and snack later, then on other days eat as normal until 6 pm. Blood glucose levels are better also.

Hey guys. I'm happy with protein power. I think it takes alot more discipline than the plans that rely on ketosis becuase you have to control yourself. I am doing well but have had some lax moments. TOM is around so I won't know if I dropped or maintained.
Interesting thing to note. My TOM was irregular when I was like Atkins 72 and even at 20g of carbs. Not irregular that it didnt show but irregular in that it was late by a week or two. This month it crept around so fast I was surprised. I've been averagting 40-80 net carbs. I KNOW that's alot from my 30 but I did say I had been lax the last week and a half. But I started tightening up. Another interesting this is that at a higher carb level I didn't get much fight from the Chocolate Monster. His heart wasn't into beating me down this month and I think I had like a SF peppermint patty and was satisfied. What do you guys think about the carbs, TOM and the chocolate phenomenon?

Okay....so nobody has posted since Oct 4th???????
Are you guys still following PP? I am. I hope I am not alone. Well I had some adjust ment on the plan. I have to stick with "good" carbs in my 30 and not "bad" carbs. Chinese Fried Donuts are not good (taste good) but bad. Such a naughty little food. |

Hey Adillenal,
How ya been? I'm working this WOL. Trying to find "me". I was too focused on the scale and I had to "calm down" and realize it wasn't going to happen in 3 months. So I'm okay now. I try to make good choices with every meal. Some meals I'm successful and some meals I go over. I still count but not religiously into fit day. People are noticing and it is encouraging. I'm motivated for the holidays. I bought my first bag of almond meal. I'm stocking up. I have to experiment. I have company coming for Thanksgiving. |

Hey!
I've been doing m version of PP for something like 4 years. It doesn't feel like a diet anymore at all, it's just how I eat. I also read " The Four Corners Diet" and incoroporated that stuff into my PP diet. It's actually a similar diet, but they talk about the benefit of adding yogurt or kefir to the diet, that the lactose in yogurt converts to lactic acid, so if the container says it has 12 grams of carbs, only count 4. Plain yogurt. And that monounsaturated fats are really good, like olive oil, avocados, almonds. |
