CAD/CALP vs. Protein Power vs. Atkins
I have now tried all three and I seem to have problems with all of them - With CAD/CALP, I had tremendous problems with cravings and actually went on a carb binge for a few days - With Protein Power, I can't seem to lose any weight - it is almost like it is too much food for me to eat ( I am supposed to be eating 40 grams of protein/meal, and when I up my carbs, I can't lose any weight) - With Atkins, I am SO tired all the time, I feel like giving up - I still need to lose about 50 lbs. more - Has anyone had any of these problems? Any advice? I really don't want to gain back the 35# I have lost over the past year, but I am really discouraged. (Weight Watchers is NOT an option, I was starving on that plan and I truly believe that it is a poor option for people that are trying NOT to become diabetic)

I havent tried any of them but Atkins. How long did you do Atkins? Were you taking vitamins and eating enough carbohydrates?

I was on Atkins for the better part of a year - that's how I lost the 35# - I take my vits faithfully and I was averaging around 20 - 25 carbs/ day - any more than that and I don't lose, but if I stay at 20 - 25 carbs then I am really tired and listless. It really is driving me batty.

hmmmmmmmm. I havent got a clue! Sorry. I feel great eating low carb. I cant really say I do Atkins because Im not strict but its based on Atkins.
Have you asked your doctor about being tired like that. Maybe you need some Iron or something. Also how long do you go with out losing while doing low carb? Do you keep it simple and close to natural or do you use products? Last edited by CarolinaRocker : 12-18-2005 at 01:58 PM. |

I prefer not to go back to WW because I got tired of counting points and they never taught me how to eliminate the "white stuff." Good luck to you!!! ![]()

You might want to try carb cycling - which is like a reward meal every 3 - 5 days instead of every night - might be a compromise between Atkins and CAD.
Or you could drop below 30 grams on Protein Power and see if that doesn't work better? Or cycle Atkins days with PP days? |
