Marmite recipes?

Okay, I tried this today for the first time, and I think it may be my new obsession. I really liked it and am thinking of ways to use it. Today, I had it on a baguette with butter. Cindy recommended trying it next with peanut butter or English Marmalade.

Just curious how else it can be used. I can totally see it added to rice or quinoa as a seasoning, but haven't tried it, so that may be really gross (not sure how it breaks down with liquid, etc.).

How do YOU use it?

It can be used as a ingredient in soups etc. Marmite - if I understand correctly is something along the lines of 'soup pot' in french.

I love it with cheese and crackers. I adore it with peanut butter! I hate marmalade - so can't even begin to imagine it...

Tastes good on toast under things - ie an egg, cheese or baked beans (maybe another british obsession!) When I have it under things - I don't use margarine or butter.

Glad to hear you are a marmite fan!

I often add it to foods like soup, stews, curries, chillis etc, I would always do this before adding any extra salt or stock.

I'd never heard of Marmite before, so I checked out their hilarious website. So, it's basically a form of nutritional yeast. I've seen people mention that before. What type of taste does it have? Is is describable? Is it available readily in the US?

It tastes like really concentrated broth or pan drippings to me. Kind of salty, oniony, but in a nice way. I got it at Fresh and Easy market. They have an international aisle, and it was in the Brittish foods section. I'm thinking it's probably available at Cost Plus World Market or similar places.
