Digestive Problems (and maybe TMI)
I hate to ask this because it's kind of embarrassing, but I'm starting out on JUDDD--almost two weeks today, and I'm having problems with my digestive track on my UP days. It's like my body doesn't want me to eat anything. I get that kind of queezy feeling in my stomach not long after I eat and then spend the rest of the day in and out of the bathroom. (I'm talking diarrhea here, not vomit.) Has anyone else had this problem? And, if so, is there anything I can do and/or does it get better after awhile? Thanks.

I had the exact opposite problem! I was able to get some good advice here. Hope someone has the answer for you as well. Good luck!

I'm also going through the same thing! Can't wait to hear opinions about the cause of this.

Are you having lots of fat with breakfast? That's all I can think of, that maybe you're all empty and then add fat (cream in coffee, bacon, that sort of thing) as your first meal, and maybe your stomach rebels. If that's not it, ignore. If you think it "might" be something like that, maybe try something else for breakfast.

Interesting comment, Dawn. Thinking back, I do realize that most of my issues have occurred when I eat a high fat meal after a DD. I'll limit the fat intake and see how that works. Thanks for the input!

You could be right and I have been thinking about this same thing. I love breakfast and I love things like bacon and eggs and even biscuits and gravy. I don't always get those, but this morning I did as well as the last time this happened--I had been to the movies and had a large buttered popcorn with lots of butter. I can't eat sweet things in the morning for the same reason, but I have stayed away from that for years. Maybe I'll have to start staying away from these things too. Oh well, I love breakfast for dinner too and that's not on an empty stomach. Thanks, you were very helpful. :)

I felt like this yesterday on a DD ... but it worked in my favor, on a DD, because I wound up having just liquids! (I think it had to do with nerves ... two job interviews in one day! On the plus side, I feel mentally sharper on DDs so that worked.)

An up day is a whole different thing, but I do empathize with the feeling.

I heard that metamucil (or similar product) helps with these types of problems. For constipation AND diarrhea. I have never taken it regularly, but some swear by it.

I had very similar issues in the beginning. I had quite a few episodes where I thought I had food poisoning (I was having problems with it coming out of both ends! Sorry, TMI). But it was happening way too often to be bad food. I probably dealt with it 5 or 6 times the first month or so. I think it was the fluctuations in what I was eating- from really low DD's or fasting DD's to very, very high UD's. I suspect I have some food intolerance issues, but I will tell you when I pushed my DD's up (from 0-300 range to 500-700 range) and kept my UDs in my 20% range with wholesome food choices, I felt 100% better. For me it was 2 things I think- the swing between the two days and the types of food I was eating (high high fat following a very low, plain DD) between the two days.

Also consider taking acidophilis probiotic. I remember a similar thread recently on this topic, so you're definitely not alone. Probiotic was recommended. It's happened to me too, but not all day - just before/after breakfast (sometimes BEFORE eating anything the morning of my UD). All the suggestions above seem plausible, so just try and see what works for you. I started the probiotic and it seems to help, although my problem doesn't happen all the time.

I did have some intestinal issues in the first month or two of JUDDDing. Looking back, I really think I was just adjusting to the new regimen, and likely doing some detoxing too. I still don't "go" as much as before JUDDD, but it has stopped being uncomfortable. The drawback now is that I think it keeps me from showing losses on the scale until I do "go".

Have you tried going gluten free? This is a common symptom among people who are gluten intolerant.
