Well I'm not far from my September goal. I weighed in at 209.5 this morning (which also means I've officially lost 30 pounds since 5/10/07). I can also get into a size 14 jeans, but I don't think the look of seeing your crack is in, haha so I want to wait until I get down to 200 to go back and see if I can fully fit into a 14, hopefully by then I'll have lost a little weight off my butt and the pants won't look so bad from the behind.

Hello!

I am brand new to this forum. I have read quite a few posts and love it! September is almost over so I will make an October goal. What is a reasonable goal? I am 55 and have about 30 pounds to lose. In 2003 I lost 80 pounds doing Atkins. I had to have major surgery, couldn't work out and got lazy and gained 30 pounds back! I am so mad at myself., but beating myself up does not help. I need to get back on track quick! I am getting married October 20 and would love to have at least 10 off by then. Is that reasonable? I have never been good at losing weight with a deadline. Don't know why.

Anyway.. hello everyone. I am looking forward to making new low carb friends and reach my goal!

Soy products

Hi, I too am happy to say low carb eating has given me what I needed to lose 10 lbs and keep it off. I now am looking for products I can eat that are low in carbs and I found the soy products, pasta and peanut butter, cereal - well now I am hearing that perhaps soy is not always safe to eat so much, is that what you have found to be true too??? I will ask my doctor in two weeks about this but I really would love to be able to eat the soy products.

Thanks, Carolcat

Soy products

I have heard some really good things on soy products and then some really very bad things on soy products. Some of them even claim soy products are dangerous to your health???

Has anyone any input on what they have experienced with Soy? I currently drink soy milk and really like it. I have purchased some soy products now from netritton and am very happy to find that I can purchase these types of food with lower carbs. A lot of them have soy products in them.

Thanks, Carolcat - confused for sure

Now I have to start working on my October goal of 240 which means I only have 8 to lose. I should shoot for 235 but I keep telling myself "Baby Steps" first, so I will keep it at that. Anything extra is a BIG plus!!!

I want to make it 182 by Sunday!! I was 183.6 this morning, so I think I could make it possibly. But, I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow I know that there is going to be legal stuff to eat so it should not be a problem. WISH ME LUCK!! If I wake up Sunday morning 9/30 and weigh 182 I will have finally made it to 100lbs

WOE: Curves diet / general low carb
Start Date: Feb 2008
I am so bummed out that I totally quit my low carb diet after a few days. We have a lot of stress at our house because of a few crisis' we are going through. I had major sugar cravings and found myself pigging out on cotton candy!

I did start working out every other day. I am keeping that up and eating more protein and less junk. It seems that if I tell myself I cannot have something AND when I have to journal all of my food and count calories/carbs I end up quitting the diet from the pressure I cause myself from following the diet.

I have decided to work out and do my regular water drinking and eating modest portions of food but not ruling any foods out. I am reducing any junk I eat and making better choices little by little. It's like I cannot go through sugar or carb withdrawl when I am super busy and stressed out.

Anyone else KWIM?? Oh, and forget about September Goals, my weight has not changed! I'd like to lose 10 in Oct. if I can get my eating right and keep working out.

My goal was to hit the 150's. I am at 160.4 today and tomorrow I am hoping that it reads at least 159.8...LOL I didn't think that I could make it since I have been in a holding patteren for 3 months (163-164). But I got serious and started writing down everything I eat (staying at 35-40 carbs). Before that I got a little sloppy and thought I could track everything in my head.

My other goal was to walk 3-4 days a week. I didn't get that started, but I hope to in October.

I will check in tomorrow morning with my final results.

I bet you'll make it, you are so close! ---- you could always take a laxative! (I'm sure I'd be down a pound if I could 'go'!)

Good luck everyone! Guess we'll have to start an "October Goal" thread too!!

Hooray!! It is the end of the month!!! I love it!

Here are my results:
1. Focus stayed on ME, despite other's outside criticism I stayed on my plan about 90% of the month. And I feel so much better
2. I logged 45 miles. And I am okay with that ... will again shoot for 60 next month.
3. I went to 8 ZUMBA classes ... and have loved every minute of them. I am going to buy a ZUMBA DVD as my Gym is not offering more convenient times for me. Perhaps I can supplement these classes as home. I have ZUMBA soundtrack in my head all day ... makes me giggle ...
4. I have planned my days ...even made accomodations when I had convenience issues and had to step off of the plan on certain days. I will be planning the same way for October.
5. I am down exactly 10 pounds.

Walked sixty-eight miles for the month.
