We all only wish there were more we could do for you. Do you have someone helping you through this, with whatever necessary paperwork and phone calls? I know you have to be strong for your children, but please let your friends and family hold you up through this terrible time.

We have a very small family - I was an only child and my father died in 1983, my husband had a sister who committed suicide several years ago, his father died in the late 70's. So it's just us 3, my mom and his mom. I havesome very very wonderful friends who are there for me, which is something I am incredibly thankful for.

I hope no one minds if I insert a major vent about my supervisor here -- I had a friend notify her when my husband died and within hours she was on the phone with my friend to give her detailed information to relay to me about how I needed to account for my time out of the office (this was 3 hours after he died!) I was shocked beyond belief that she could possibly think this is a good time to discuss this. Then she went on to tell co-workers that "this was a blessing." and that my husband was incredibly SELFISH because he told me exactly how he wanted his arrangements -- small and private with no obit in the paper. She felt that's inappropriate because he's not here and we who are left should decide. Yeah, that's her business

I'm so sorry that the supervisor felt it her business, and I'm also sorry that your co-worker bothered to tell you about her disgusting behavior.

So sorry for your loss. I'm know you are in such pain.

I sure agree with Ntombi's comment above regarding the boss and the co-worker.

That (work) is the LAST thing you need to be worrying about right now. Take care of yourself, your kids, and hold up his mom...that and getting through the necessary arrangements is more than enough for you to handle. Remember to take some time alone for yourself, and allow yourself to grieve, too. We're all here for you...

I have no words for your supervisor. I know that the subject has to be addressed, but not so quickly and not second-hand.

Take care and let us know if we can help in any way. Thank goodness for your friends/ support network.

Your supervisor is sick, that's horrible! I'm so sorry you even had to deal with such ignorance, especially at a time like this.

I'm glad to hear your friends are there to surround you with the support you need.

Your supervisor is disgusting. I'm sorry your co-worker relayed it all to you. That's the last thing you need on your mind right now.
