Sheri and family~ I am deeply sorry for your loss

I lost my dad to cancer 1/7/06 last year he was 57. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. Time will heal. He is in a better place now and you will see him again someday

As sad as his passing is he is not suffering anymore

Thank you so much everyone. Your words bring me to tears and yet somehow help me to get this whole experience into the realm of reality somehow. I think that will be a long process. I already miss him so dreadfully much.

Arrangements are not yet firmed up, but we know there will be a memorial on Monday night and his funeral on Tuesday during the day. The memorial kind of takes the place of the "wake" we Catholics used to do. There will be music, prayers and then an open mike for any who wish to share their stories and memories of Joseph. We have chosen to have a closed casket, as Joseph would really hate people staring at him. But we will have lots of pictures. The funeral will be a full rite of burial/mass etc. I know we have the blood drive scheduled for Monday night and I will make calls today to see if we can reschedule it for a slightly later date. I would adore it if we still do it, in honor of Joseph. He had more transfusions than I can count. Times for memorial and funeral are not yet set, but will be held at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas.

The family is coping as well as can be expected. Stewart and I were at Joseph's side through it all. Nick and Alex are heartbroken, but carrying on bravely. I miss him so much it sucks the breath out of me.
