The 2006 TN Gathering/Pig Roast was a blast!

I just wanted to thank everyone for such a wonderful time... The TN Gathering was a HUGE success! It seems that everyone had a very good time as usual. We had tons of great food and prizes but best of all... it was wonderful seeing all the new faces this year as well as several long time friends.

Pictures can be posted in this thread but I want to also caution people before posting them... Because of last year, I want to suggest to people to please make sure it is okay to post pictures of others before posting them and maybe send the picture to them in a PM... if you need help you can ask me. Some people were a little upset with pictures last year and we had to ask others to remove them for people... or I cropped some of them to help people feel more comfortable. So please respect other peoples feelings. If you need help fixing your pictures such as cropping and shrinking... you are more then welcome to send me the picture first and I can ready them and send them back... Here is my email...

It was good to see old friends once again, and to meet some new people as well. The area around Pigeon Forge is beautiful, with the Smokey Mountains close by. We had a lot of rain off and on for the days we were there, but the Friday night 'Meet and Greet' was held at our cabin and the rain didn't affect the party at all. The rain held off on Saturday until we were done with the festivities, cleaned and packed up. The food was great, and there were prizes as well.

We even held a bridal shower for Melly, since she didn't give us time to do it before she got married, and refused to drag the hubby to a Gathering to be married in front of us all.

It was great to see how everyone has done on their journey to reach goal. Some have just started, some have completed the struggle. But we all shared some excellent food and a lot of laughs.

All in all, there were 23 people in attendance on Saturday. Some made quite the effort to get there, many hours driving, some flying in.

Me and Trish were able to drop by Friday evening for a little while. It was so neat, they knew who we were as we were walking up to the cabin

We were early and missed most of the crowd, it was great to meet Cheri, Melly, Pami, Fatcat, sinny, roro and a few others I can't remember their names. We had other obligations and couldn't stay long or make it to the pig roast but I'm glad the rain held out for you all and that it was a huge success.

We got caught in a thunderstorm hiking up to Laurel Falls

. We were lucky enough to see a BIG bear and get some great pics. We came home to find a broken hot water line under the kitchen sink.....we waded in....I got the line plugged off and will be calling the insurance company in the morning.

We have some pics to post, but will have to wait till tomorrow.

I really enjoyed meeting the few we got to meet. I'm just sorry we couldn't make it to the pig roast

There is no place like home!!!!!!! The Pig Roast was a blast but I have to tell ya that it is good to be home!!!!!!! Those last 100 miles about killed me!!!! We are back on Missouri time and from the time we left to the time I got home it was 16 1/2 hours!!!!! Normally it does not take that long but we stopped and had lunch in Lexington, KY with Pami and Fatcat and then had some problems on the road that slowed us down.

It was so great to see everyone. As usual we had a blast and enjoyed just being together. I have lots of pictures to post but they will have to wait.......back to work this morning!!!!!!

You were definately missed. Mr.Sinny said we weren't as wild as last year. And he felt better because he didn't have to behave this year.

I came home last night and found that I missed one WILD party here in my house. teenagers!

there was a beer bottle in the bushes, a full unopened one in the frig, and cigarette butts under the deck. Oh well, i guess I better not leave my son home alone anymore.

we did gain a rocks glass and a black hoodie tho, and the one beer.

the worst part was when we went to bed, the bed smelled like dirty feet

the sheets are in the wash now. supposedly, it was just my son slept in my bed, no one else. he let someone else sleep in his bed. i guess not too many kids slept over, because there would have been a lot more cereal and milk gone, but at the prime time, there must have been a lot of kids here because when I called I could barely hear him, it sounded like a bar.
the good part is they did clean up, the house was cleaner than I left it.

We had a great time in TN!!!! It was so nice to see everyone. And the smoky mountains is magical and picturesque.

We missed you Shelly, but I don't think your absence was the reason we were not as wild. we are just getting older, thats all. and the lack of jello shots. it sure beats hugging the porcelain bowl at 4am tho.

I will post my recipe for the chicken teriaki cabbage salad and pics asap.
