Hello from another newbie here! I just made it through my first day on Atkins induction. I need all the motivation and support I can get to keep going. I always start off strong and end up getting off track for any number of reasons.

Newbie to LCF
Hi there!
Newbie here to the LCF site, but been on Atkins since May 25th and LOVE IT. So far I am down 17 lbs and have 34 more to go. I am hoping to find support, information and friends here. I once thought dieting was hard and miserable. The low-carb way has been enlightening, fun and easy to commit to. So glad to be here. |

Just passed my first month mark...!
Hi Everyone,
![]() It is so great to read how everyone is doing. I'm checking in. I'm doing better than I thought that I would. Sometimes I struggle. And the alternative of eating carbs is just not an option. I am starting to feel better and better everyday. I have been sick and I didn't really know how sick I had gotten over the years. High BP and T2Diabetic. It sometimes feels strange to feel better. Like, feeling good is out of my comfort zone. Ack. I didn't know I could feel so good. And the feeling good is comes and goes, but stays longer and longer. That said, some problems that I am recognizing...I'm eating too much lately. Within this last week...TOM, I realized. I'm snacking too much. I'm eating too much fat now...I believe. Too much dairy. Not planning meals through the day. Just cooking a lot so that there is something in the fridge that I end up snacking and not creating a meal. Today, I had breakfast, the rest of the day I ate four times snack size meals. I'm so astonished that it's OK to eat mayo...and tonight I made mayo! Glad to see everyone here. I have 125 lbs to lose. It's a journey. ![]() |

Hey, consider yourself blessed. I gained 8 lbs. the first week and am in damage control, assessment, kick the cat and kill the dog mode. I didn't give up my beloved beer just to gain weight.

Sorry, Cosmic, but you gave me a much needed laugh. I certainly can relate to the beer sacrifice. That's what's kept me from starting a real program for so long ~ I didn't think I could ditch the brews. Seems like just stopping that would cause me to lose all the weight.... I mean, in my case, I drank a bunch, and everyday. Anyway, don't give up. It's not fair for you to drink if I can't!

I know what you mean. I'm also so tired of going back and forth. I know Atkins is what I should be doing. I have said it once I have said it twice, you would think with just the way Atkins makes me feel that it would be enough for me to stay on it. I feel so awesome when I change my life style and then I totally back slide. I am blessed to not have any hbp or diabetes yet. I really hope I can do it this time as I am just super tired of not feeling good.

I thought any drink was okay as long as it was zero calorie, zero carb was cool???? Is this one of those crazy exceptions that I didn't know about? Let me know, but good luck with your endeavour as I will try with mine!

Hey ya'll. Kaye here from Georgia. I started the low carb diet 6 weeks ago...lost 10 lbs. but nothing in the last two weeks now. I'm beginning to think I'm just not doing it right. I eat breakfast...usually eggs and bacon, lunch is usually a fiber wrap with meat/lettuce/tomato and if I'm hungry I'll make two. Dinner is meat and usually a salad. I will eat two or three sugar free pieces of chocolate candy during the day along with a hand full of nuts and maybe cheese. Some times I think I'm eating too much meat. The fat sure has taken away my energy but I'm still trying to walk everyday. What else can I do to boost this thing? Thanks, love the group...Kaye

Make sure you watch the nuts and cheese.. they can stall.. especially because serving sizes of nuts is smaller then what people think and they overeat them. What are you drinking? Water is the best thing.. soda can stall you.. too much coffee can as well so keep that in moderation.. Also no more then 3 packets of splenda a day.. Are you measuring? Sometimes you are losing inches and not pounds.. inches are better because they show! I would drop the sugarfree candy and replace it with some berries if you feel you need something sweet. If you want to cut back even more.. instead of a fiber wrap take a big lettuce leaf and use that as the wrap putting all the other stuff inside it. Check out some of the menus of people that are on induction if they are successful that can also help guide you. Good luck!!!
Check out the induction food porn threads.. it can help a lot to see what others are eating while on induction.. there are some really great recipes (and pictures) here... INDUCTION FOOD PORN!!! INDUCTION FOOD PORN!!! #2

Hello,
I'm a not so newbie here. Actually, I'm a returning member from about 2-3 years ago. I fell off the LC wagon and gained a ton of weight back *facepalm* Anywhos, I'm back and trying real hard to lose this weight again. If I did it the first time, I'm sure I can do it again. I'm back in induction and hopefully, with the motivation I get from this forum, I can stick with it. |

I read where some of you make the '1 minute muffin'. Can I make this with Almond flour instead of Soy flour? Which is best? Where can I find Almond flour? Thanks..Kaye
