Oh Sheri....

We all wish we could be there for you. You are in our daily thoughts, I will try to go donate blood today, I will call red cRoss to see if I can donate this far away and still have the credit go to you.

I know he can't have balloons or flowers, but he is pokemon fan, right ? Does he have a favorite? My kids collect and have lots of super rares...or if he couldn't have opened cards due to isolation issues, could Isend one pack of new cards?

he can have brand new toys only..the cards are a marvelous idea. The one burst of energy he has shown is when his grandmother brought a pack in for him. He could not move one arm and would not let us help him and between teeth adn fingers he got that thing open in record time. Thanks so much.

Sheri, how are you hanging in there honey? Those statistics don't mean anything. If I have learned anything about kids it is that they are a heck of a lot tougher than we give them credit for! He's your baby and that means that he's a fighter just like his momma.

gentylwind, does he like anything else? like baseball, any other sports, cartoons or comics, specific type of books that he could read or have read to him when he doesn't feel up to it, etc. I am going to send a few things but hope to find specific things he would enjoy. I may send a silly book like captain underpants. it's pretty easy for a 12 year old, but silly. my youngest liked them past 12.

Please, if he has any other interests let me know either here or in a pm so I can surprize him with some things he may be able to enjoy.

Update! Good News!

Today is a good day.

Sheri said that he woke up last night hungry and ready to eat and when she got there this morning he had a mouthful of fruit loops and milk and is in good spirits.

She got some good sleep last night and is feeling much better.

Today is a good day and we're gonna hold onto that.

One step at a time.

Hi All.

I am not at the hospital today. I am taking advantage of the temporary upswing to get caught up at work. My office is being so wonderful. I understand now why I lost my job right after Dad died. I could not have this kind of flexibility where i was before nor this level of compassion and support.

You are all so wonderful, I just cannot tell you. I am humbled beyond words by the outpouring of love here. It matters. It helps. It sustains me more than you realize.

Joseph likes:
Anything pokemon....undies (boxers?), cards, books, comic books, action figures, anything at all
Things he can build with his hands...Legos, K-Nex, Bionicles
He loves to do origami (Japanese paper folding) books, kits, origami papers, how-to instructions
He likes to draw and enjoys books on instructional drawing for cartoon characters
Garfield
Comic books (nothing violent please)
Anything to do with Bionicles

Nick (age 10) and Alex( age 7) like Imaginext, Pokemon, action figures, Pokemon cards, Yu Gi Oh cards, anthing to do with Star Wars (action figures etc), Play Doh and pretty much anything little boys like. Nick is very sensitive and spiritual and enjoys prayer books, pictures of Jesus, crosses and the like. We are Catholic and if you choose to send religious items, please nothing evangelical in nature. I will screen these kinds of gifts. Christian/Catholic for him would be welcome items. He is struggling the most of the three kids.
