An announcement about Dan (LCThincyclist/MrDizzy)

I post this thread with a heavy heart and a thousand tears.

I spoke with Dan's mother earlier today and learned that Dan took his life last night.

He was my most special friend. When we spoke early yesterday morning he seemed happy to be moving foward with a new phase in his life and I was happy for him.

I loved him dearly and I will carry him in my heart for the rest of my days.

For anyone that would like to contribute they may send the money to my paypal at ricklisa@comcast.net

If you do not use paypal and would still contribute, you can email me for my personal address. Flowers will be purchased for the family and the remainder of the money will be sent to his children.

When Lisa called me today and told me about what happend I had already basically known. Both of us had been trying to call him since yesterday with no luck. This was not like Dan.
He was so happy on Wendsday and as I look back I should have known what was coming.
My heart is breaking for my friend, who even through his dark days this past month or so tried to keep my spirits up when I was struggling.
I will always rememeber the encouragment he gave me and the way he made me feel like such a special person.
Lisa (emily1965) and I will miss him dearly, and plan on sending this thread to his mother.
Thank you all for the friendship you have shown Dan in the last few days. I know he cared about each and every one of you.

I just got off the phone with his mother...
There is not going to be a service, Dan is going to be cremated. There is not going to be an obit, as Dan had not lived in that city for over 22 years and HIS FAMILY just did not feel they wanted to do one in light of the circumstances of his death.

Those of you who have contributed, thank you. The money will be given to his mother to be put in a fund for his 3 children. His mother has requested no flowers but rather a doantion be made in his name. She has allowed Emily and I to get a group of different charitys or orginizations that help people like Dan and then she will make the final choice. If any of you have any suggestions with regards to the charities please PM me (surfergirl) as it would be greatly appreciated! If you would like to make a direct donation to his children, you can PM me and I will tell you how you can do that, or you can donate to the paypal account emily1965 has set up.

Again, Lisa (emily1965) and I appreciate all the love and support that has been showen to Dan and his family and to both of us. This online community is amazing and I feel privlidged to be part of it.

I truly hope the happy memories of Dan help his family and friends through this difficult time. I never saw a pic of him before, he was handsome.

I don't even know what to say. I

for his family that they will somehow be able to find peace after this tragedy.

I always enjoyed Dan's posts and have felt terrible that he was in such pain lately. I was hoping that with the help of his psychologist and the plans they were working on together that he would find a way out of his pain.

Dan, you will be missed.

OMG...I am so sorry to hear of this.
Special prayers to his family and friends.I know that he had a special place in so many hearts.

I was just reading his posts yesterday and was wishing him well with his decision.I didn't know him that well but what I do know of him he was a good man.
