In Memoriam: Happy Birthday, Bekini Bound!

On June 26th, 2004, the world lost an angel. A sweet face, a kind word, a funny story, and an uplifting spirit describe our girl, Brandy Seay, aka Bekini Bound. Today was her birthday.

Brandy had been a member of LCF since March 2003 and instantly became close to many of us here. Her life was tragically cut short in a car accident that occured as she swerved to miss a deer in the road.

At the bottom of this post are a few links to help familiarize yourself with LCF's Angel, Brandy.

Please remember her family and her DH, Steven, on what must be an incredibly difficult day. In honor of Brandy and her committment to her work, a scholarship fund was set up for nursing students. If you feel moved to do so, I am sure a donation in any amount in the memory of Brandy would be greatly appreciated. More info will be posted later today re: the scholarship.

I know many here knew Brandy personally... she always had some funny stories. Does anyone want to share an anectdote? You know she wouldn't want sadness!

I'm missing Kini as well, and sending hugs and thoughts to her family and friends. She was a beautiful soul and a light to the world. I still feel her around me every day. I see her in the sunshine, hear her when the birds sing, and feel her hugs everytime I think about her. I just know that I'll see her again some day.

Happy, happy birthday Brandy honey!

I'll celebrate today, the anniversary of the day we got to share Brandy, and also in June, the day she was reborn into her real life.

What a bright and amazing soul she is! Her signature is JOY, she gave it to everyone with whom she came in contact, it streamed off her like light. She made such an impression on so many of us here, in such a short time. To this day, I can always tell when Brandy is near because I'll laugh so hard that I cry.

When I spoke to Brandy's mom, she told me that what we knew of her is what she lived every day. Brandy was always, always extending herself to help someone, always with joy, and always making an indelible impression.

Keep a seat warm at the party for me, kini!

Yeah! She hated them sometimes

She told me she was saving the dog butt sniffing story for a day when I really needed a laugh and couldnt handle the stress of Dr. LazyAss anymore. That was before Scott was even diagnosed. I thought about Brandy a lot when I was sitting in the hospital over the past 8 months. I could have used that story any time, but I kind of laugh in anticipation just knowing its bound to be funny.
