Mary here, checking in. Plugging along, one day at a time. I made it through the weekend on plan and had some wonderful visits with family members. I don't feel sick or disgusted or bloated today. What a gift from God! Who could ask for a better Christmas present!

Have a great holiday season.

I'm here.

Christmas was low carb, but as I posted elsewhere, my sin has been salty foods. I loooooove salt, and the feeling isn't mutual! Between TOM and salt, and not getting my water intake in, I'm up 15# in water. This is nothing new, though.

I also haven't been able to exercise for nearly a week; we've been snowed in for the majority of it. Or rather, iced in. I haven't been able to venture much further than the driveway since last Wednesday; we finally got out this morning, and I got a mile on the treadmill. Hopefully we'll get in the 50's today and the rest of the ice will melt. It's really a rarity here, so people just stay home; we don't have the road equipment to handle it, and people don't know how to drive on it. So staying in until it melts is about the only reasonable option.

The downside of carrying water weight (besides the obvious!) is that I ache, badly. Gotta be a good girl and get rid of the water. Plus, I'm so darned close to being in Onederland, that I really do want to get on with it!

Hello to everyone...!

I feel like I am not doing good at this challenge at all with being sick for most of it so far.
Hopefully after this infection is over I can really get back into My exercise routine and see some results.

It's confession time from your leader. Yes I blew it big time. Not only am I eating anything and everything in sight, but my exercise has ceased to exist and as for my water drinking...... need I say anymore.

Quiggley: dieting is harder when you're not feeling 100%. Personally I think you're doing fantastically.

LTFS: We have similar problems over here when it snows, only here it seems that the whole of England grinds to a halt. I say England because Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all seem to cope much better.

Hi everyone,
I survived Christmas and managed to stay on my WOE and even though I didn't get to Curves often last week I'm still down 2 pounds So now I'm in the 60 pound club ( total of 61 pounds down). I can't recall what I weighed at the begining of the challenge, I have to look it up. Anyhow, I'll post more soon. Still running a lot. Hugs and good wishes to you all!

Congratulations IW on your 2lb loss. . now theres no way I'm going to be jumping on my bathroom scales until the 3rd January when I will be re-inducting yet again.

I've contacted Tracie and told her that although we may be few in number right now, I know that many of our team are away right now, and that they are without their regular internet access. For this reason I'm waiting until the 3rd January before I hold an official rolecall. However if some of you are just lurking because you have fallen off the wagon over the holiday. Post, come on I have well and truly fallen off the wagon, correction I didn't just fall off I took a flying leap! Then maybe some of you are not posting because you feel that being on this team with a leader that isn't showing a good example is not what you expected when you signed on. Well all I can say in my defense is that at least I'm honest. from me you get support, genuine concern and blunt honesty.

On another note I have a Tombola Day tomorrow!

Nikki I figure we are all Human and we all have little set backs but that is the point just letting it be that little set back and not going on for Days and weeks.

I have had times during TOM I have ate every LC treat I have in the House and even as I was eating it I was asking Myself why? I was not hungry and I knew it was Hormonal but I still did it.

Hi there, how is it going?

I have been noticing that your team is dwindling, do you have MIA members?

I do not want any teams to be lacking to many members as we get into the 2nd 1/2 of this challenge........

TleLoserWins........ will you please PM me with a list of ACTIVE members on this team?

Thanks.....

Great big for Jormy. No need to explain why you're in a bad mood, just know that no matter what we are all here cheering you on.

Nuttyneeta: I have seen you posting elsewhere, so come on and join in. Are things so bad that you can't. I don't think so, look at my track record. Come on please give us an update, or at least let us encourage you. Why do I get the feeling that you just might need some .

Stilltryin: Collette, just a thought but maybe you have been running yourself down over the period just before Xmas. Basically going non-stop,, getting this, fixing that. Never giving yourself time. Once Christmas Day arrived, you were able to relax and that is when you realised you were tired. This happens to me as well. So rest, your body obviously needs to.

I've just signed up on that lose 100lb in 05 challenge, but as an individual. The points system looks like fun, but I didn't want to be in a team. Why you may ask? Well the answer is very simple, this is my team and here is where my priorities lie. I'm 100% commited to leading this team to the best of my ability.

TLW - We only become losers in the negative sense when stop trying. Oddly enough, I found that I was able to stay with my program once I surrendered my food and my life to my Higher Power. The plan is not difficult now, I take it one day at a time, and I believe that God can do for me what I couldn't do for myself. Wishing you only the best.

Won't be able to weigh in until January 3rd because the scale I use is at the Y and it is closed until Monday. If it turns out to be open on the 2nd, I will go.

The holidays have come and gone and they were like any other day of the week. The joy came from seeing family members and receiving family letters and pictures of nieces/nephews that I had not seen since last year, hearing all the wonderful stories that people had undertaken. I had the same portions of food on Christmas day that I had on other days and I could predict that reliably. I am so grateful for my plan of eating and all the support systems I employ to have a wonderful life today.

I agree 100%

Now for the team talk from your leader!

Listen up now! Stop nibbling on those legal or maybe illegal treats. The holiday period is over tomorrow.

Now it's time to take stock of where we all are on this challenge.
Tomorrow is a fresh start for us all.

To those (and you know who you are) who still gave it 100% over the holiday

To those (and this includes me) who made a complete hash of it,

Now there's no point in if you did slip up. That isn't going to help at all. There's no point either in being over confident either. We all know that is a recipe for disaster.

So starting tomorrow I want to see commitment to your personal WOE's, and of equal importance, I need to see you all posting and giving your fellow Delta team members encouragement and support.

The only people exempt from this are those who are away and without internet access.

We all signed up to be members of this team. So lets be a team and a good team.

OK leader message over.

Nikki

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a great night last night and have a wonderful day today too! I stayed on plan though I ate ham, and that might make me retain water. I did drink a LOT of water though, so we'll see. I won't weight till Monday. I hope we all achieve our goals this year. Best of luck and best wishes to you all for health wealth happiness and weight loss!

Happy New Year Everyone! Sorry to have been MIA, this new work schedule doesn't facilitate online time too much. I just posted this elsewhere, but it pretty much says where I'm at, so I'm re-posting here -

We're in the same boat, girlfriend (in reference to going off plan, and restarting today). I, however, did totally binge yesterday. Not the best way to start things out, but I'm feeling up to the challenge today, so here we go.

I've decided I'm going to follow South Beach for the next month (the 2 week "strict phase", then 2 weeks at least of phase 2) to see if it works okay for me. I've found that I tend to stay on plan really well...then I go nuts. I'm thinking maybe being too restrictive is getting me in the "I'm denying myself" thought pattern? So we will see what happens.

I'm going to take this one step at a time. If I try to overhaul everything at once I'm going to overwhelm myself. So, my goal this week is to follow South Beach phase 1 to letter, and to only drink water. I start school next week (did you know I'm going back to school finally? Yep, nursing!), so my whole routine is going to change and I'm not sure how it will affect my schedule yet. I hope to get to the gym a couple of times in there, but I'm not going to make a schedule for working out until I've been in school for at least a week. I AM thinking about training for another marathon (it was a real motivator for me before), but again I have to pay attention to my time committments.

Hugs to everyone! Here's to a thinner 2005!!

Euphrates: I've looked into the South Beach Diet as well and I found it interesting, I hope it works for you. Nursing... hum.... yes I can see you as a nurse!

Patti: Keep drinking that water and maybe the ham won't cause you to stall or worse gain.

Lorraine: Of course you will reach goal! As for your DH remember the saying 'You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink'

Quiggley: I hope the infection in your legs gets better soon.
