Checking in. I'm feeling as though I'm the worlds worst leader. For some reason I just can't get any enthusiasm up right now for this challenge, and my part in it. Yet I can feel genuine pleasure when any of you do well, or I can sympathise when things are going badly, I just can't feel anything for myself.
Lisa: Congratulations on yet another loss! The church story was .Melody: Thanks for the Colette: Thanks for the pm Lorraine: Thanks for all the e.cards. Nikki |

A total of 6# lost this week, so far! I wasn't able to weigh today, so that's yesterday. I loooooove whooshes. I now weigh less than DH, and that's a first for at least a couple of decades.
Great things are happening. I hope they are for you, too! |

Sorry about being such a wet blanket folks, as LTFS would say 'Normal service will resume shortly'. I feel very lucky to be the leader of such a great band of team mates and I will get over the glums I promise.

stilltryin,
My loss doesn't come in a steady pattern. I usually only lose for 7-10 days a month; the rest of the time, I hold even or gain water weight. Then, I'll whoosh out all the water weight and a few extra pounds to boot. That's just how my body works. Last month, I whooshed out the water and nothing extra, so it's a big relief to have dropped some this month. I also went on a meat fast to shake things up; I'm a firm believer that you have to shock your body on occasion, so it keeps losing. In my case, it's eating *extremely* low carb (under 4 a day for the last 10 days or so) and pretty low in calories, too. I'll be going back to induction levels tomorrow, since we're going out of town for holiday with family. Keep at it--you have to find your body's rhythm. That goes for everyone! TLW, when you've got a lot on your plate, it's easy to lose enthusiasm. The wonderful thing is that each day is a new day, and you just might find your excitement tomorrow. It's always a new opportunity.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick hello and a BIG congratulations to Lisa on the nice WHOOSH and to all of the rest of you who are losing well. I weigh again tomorrow so we will see. Nikki, don't be so hard on yourself. You are a great leader! You have been struggling for about a month now and it will get better, maybe it's holiday stress? I have that... and work stress too.... Ah well... at least I'm trying to eat right. Hang in there everyone, tis the season to be jolly! (falalalala...lalalala.... ) Talk to you tomorrow. to all and to Nikki ![]()

Runnning through the thread quickly to say I think everyone is obviously trying their best, and no leader could ask for more. As for me my mood is slightly better again today so things are looking up.
I'm not following my WOL very strictly over the holoday period, though I will be keeping away from sugar and wheat. Here's to us, we deserve the best! Nikki |

Hi team.
I'm pretty ashamed of myself. I didn't follow plan for the last 3 days, eating small bits of stuff I KNOW i can't have. Luckily enough I haven't gained but 3 pounds, back up to the damned 302 but TOM is also in town so I know it will go away soon. I haven't gone totally nutzo.. one small hershey's kiss one day, a half a cookie the next day and last night, I had a small bowl of Spaghetti, that was until my son looked at me and said, "HEYYYYYYY MOM. You are supposed to be on a DIET, now give me that bowl!!!" and he ate it. I even tried to use the raised eyebrow to throw in some terror for grabbing my dinner, but couldn't raise enough energy. He was right and I was busted!! I dissapear and I am up to no good. I KNOW this. So why do i continue to do it? Pure laziness on my part. So, i'm back, with tail between legs and cramping like a byotch and determined to prove people wrong. We can do this yanno. One damned day at a time. |

Thanks for the encouragement folks. Things are looking a little brighter today even though the weather outside is not.
This is a very hard time of year to stay on track, and with all the temptations out there I think we are all doing extremey well. OK some of us have or are slipping, but we still come back, maybe it's a case of 2 steps forward one step back! But no matter what happens we are all here for each other. Nikki |

Hi everyone,
Checking in. Food is on target one day at a time. I accomplsihed one goal I set for myself on Saturday. I got my Christmas cards out to the post office. DH and I did a little more Christmas shopping. We wrapped some, finishing wrapping today. We went to visit his folks who are in their 80's and watched them unwrap their gifts, little things that were in a glittery container. My MIL had tears in her eyes because she loved the container so much, and the cheese, and the chocolates, and the gift certificate to WalMart. She wanted to go and buy all the different colors embrodiery thread that they had. I love her so much. Then we opened our gifts from them. We knew they didn't have much money what with raising 6 children who all went to college, some have Masters and one is working on a Doctorate. It didn't matter what they gave us, I love them. Well, it turns out this year they must have cashed in some of their retirement, they gave each of their six children ten 100 dollar bills. I cried when I saw this because our oven died last weekend and we knew we were going to have to start another payment plan with Sears. God does perform miracles. I had read somewhere that if you believe in miracles, miracles start to happen. Maybe it is more that miracles are always happening but when you are more aware, you actually begin to see them in your life. Have a good week.

Hi to all,
MaryMary that was such a sweet story, they sound like wonderful people. Still tryin, I can really relate, I have been doing a ton of baking. Last night I made my favorites, home made cinamon rolls, and lots of cookies too. It was hard but I didn't touch, because I worry if I have one, I'll go off and I've come to far to blow it. I will go to Curves in a bit and weigh, I hope I dropped at least one pound so I will be in the 60 pound club I'll let you know later today/ My mom is coming over for more baking tonight. I am feeling over tired though. So much to do, and so little help... Of well. Bye for now. ![]() |

Thank you Tracie, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and everyone else too. I am almost ready for Christmas. I have a few last minute items to get though. I have done a lot of baking and I haven't tasted anything
But I'm still holding at 59 pounds down. I was hoping to be at 60 today but the scale wasn't kind. I am having some tummy troubles so that's hard too, but I'm ok. Talk to everyone soon. |

I'm going to have to go to the doctors tomorrow. My legs have swollen up and my left knee is very painful. Just what I've always wanted for Xmas, I don't think! Apart from that I'm fine and staying on WOE. I haven't weighed myself recently, but with how my lega are it would be a safe bet that it's on the way up again. Have you all read my last post on the old thread? What do you think? Nikki |

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well Nikki I hope your legs are better soon. Has this happened before? I read those links and I agree about the sleep, and I'm sure you don't get enough. But the brain thing..Hmmmm I'm a bit more skeptical about that, at least I hope it isn't true! I need all the brain cells I can get without being Dain Bramaged due to weight! Well, I'm off to shop! Have a great day everyone. |

Wanted to check in before the day is over.
I got the gifts in the mail today before Christmas. I only have a few things left to get for my DD and her BF and I am done. We are going there on Thursday to visit. Then to my DB on Friday and my DH's DB on Saturday. Sunday is for rest. Friday is a 2 hr drive but we will spend the night there. My DB is taking us to the children's service Friday night. I went once before and it was great. I will be packing some backup food all weighed and measured for our trips on Friday and Saturday. This way I don't worry about if there will be food I can eat. I know there will be because I am bringing it. If it turns out that these relatives do serve something I can have, I will have it and keep the backup in the cooler. I am always amazed how with a little planning, this program is totally transportable. By the way, do you all know another word for Christmas? ..... Of course, it's Saturday, just another day for abstinent eating. Have a great holiday. |

Well I went to the Dr's and it appears that I have water on the knee and localised fluid retention. Guess what he recommended. Yes drink plenty of water! Looks like my 3 litres a dat just isn't enough!
He also gave me some anti-inflammatory tablets as well.I've come to a conclusion, and that is I have to eat the same three meals each day, well the same food stuff each day, that is eggs, tuna, chicken, green salad, green beans and a little mayo, oh and of course butter. If I deviate from those foods I at best stall and usually gain. Nikki |
