Mary: How is the GreySheeters going? Do you have to use their diet plan or can you use one of your own?
Life is picking up again for me, I can now claim 2 full days cheat free on Atkin Induction levels. I'm getting Zoe's Christmas Play costume ready today, she is being an angel yet again lol, I've been told by her teacher that she really wanted to be a shephard and wear a beard. Nikki |

My favourite programme has just finished for another year,
though there is the Christmas special to look forward to. It's Strictly Come Dancing. Now Lorraine will know all about it, but just incase it hasn't crossed over the pond yet, I'll post this link dancingFor Christmas I'm getting some perfume from DH, the name of it is Arpege and he had to order it on- line as it isn't readily available around where I live. Am I ready for Christmas? NO! Our decorations are still up in the loft for starters, and I've still got many of the presents yet to buy. Finances are dictating that we can't get them all at once. Hi everyone!
Not much time to post in the next 8 days. I have a few conferences to prepare for and I'm off the last week of December. So.. its crunch time. I'm SO not ready for Christmas. I still have to get stuff for my son and everything he's mentioned is way out of my league. I want to bawl sometimes cuz I don't make the money his dad makes and get the schitty gifts. He's never complained though, I just feel bad sometimes. anyway, stuck to this plan like glue and FINALLY lost 2.5 pounds. I'm knocking on twotervilles door. Well, I'll try to check in when I get home tonight. take care all!! |

Hi everyone,
I follow the Cambridge Greysheet Food Plan. It is the same food plan that everyone in GreySheeters Anonymous follows. It is balanced, wholesome, and low carb. In the first 10 months of 2004, I lost about 7 lbs a month. Then just 7 lbs in Oct-Nov. I only weigh in once a month on the first. For me it isn't about the number on the scale, but about being abstinent each day one day at a time. I write my food down on paper, call it into my sponsor, weigh & measure my meals, and don't eat between meals no matter what. This process is called abstinence and with the grace of God is the most important thing I do today. I no longer obsess about food although there are days when I have food thoughts but now have a way to take actions to deal with them. Just because I have a food thought does not mean I have to act on the food thought with food. My favorite programs are the reality shows to learn how folks deal with success as well as disappointment. It helps knowing that everyone is just as screwed up as I am. No one is perfect. I still have Christmas presents to buy. Money is tight this Christmas since I am not working yet. Project for the week: Christmas cards.

I'm here. I don't post much, if at all, over the weekends; I work on the internet all week long, and I need a break from it.
Things are grand; I'm down 1.5# this morning. I've got a new low! This is my whoosh period, and I'm hoping to make it below 210 this time around. I'd *really* love a super-duper whoosh and get below 200, but I know that likely won't happen this time around. It would make a lovely Christmas present, though. ![]() We have our outside lights up but no tree yet, and we haven't begun to Christmas shop. We'll do almost all of it next week. This time of year is so busy at school (6 week and semester tests, reviews, conferences, etc.) that time just ends up slipping away from us.

Here we are at the start of week 3. Isn't the time flying, only one more week until the next official weigh-in; and we have to find that pesky tapemeasure again!
Are we all ready? Lets us all give it that little bit extra. Post and encourage each other. Here's an idea for a little extra exercise. Always forget one or two items from the first aisle at the supermarket until you are ready to go to the till, you will then have to walk all the way back to pick them up. Or always park in the furthest parking space from the doors to the supermarket. Never carry too much up the stairs when you are at home, instead take at least three or four trips. Keep drinking your water, and stay away from the carbs! Lets go and kick that unwanted blubber goodbye. Nikki |

Hi everyone,
sorry for not posting much but life is mad at the moment!! I made some bad food choices over the weekend after convincing my self I wouldn't. I felt bit down about it this morning but am feeling positive again now. I can't promise to be an angel over the next few weeks (spend all year being one of them,,lol!!) food wise but I can try my best. I've been good today and have been rushing around like a mad thing so hopefully any damage will be minimal. I'm going to try having a much smaller dinner in the evening as that seems to be working for a lot of people. Sorry Nikki but I didn't see any "Strictly come dancing" I think it clashed with the "X Factor" !! Don'y have a favourite program at the moment,,,am still having withdrawal symptoms now that "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" has finished!! Decorations are up and I've finished my present shopping so I can relax a bit now and concentrate more on Christmas food. Be as good as you can everyone,,,lets make this a really positive week! I've never watched 'Everyone loves Raymond', but from the rave revues here I might just force Zoe to do without watching C.Beebies, at least once and check it out.
WOO HOO Lisa on the loss! Collette: I too dream of fixing up the house, but when you're blessed with a DH who thinks that a beaded curtain is suitable for a bathroom door; it all really down to me and I just haven't got the get up and go, to start tackling it. Quiggley. |

HI everyone,
Well, work should slow down after tomorrow and I should have a bit more time, though Christmas is keeping me jumping. I have most of my shopping done and most of it wrapped but there is always a few more things to buy.. then the baking...and the grocery shopping for all the family get togethers ( all here!) and major cleaning! Whew.... In spite of it all I am still on plan. I'm down another pound So that's 57 total and 7 during the challenge so far. Sounds like everyone is on track even if we are all a bit maxed out for time and energy. I'm missing being able to eat special holiday foods, but I'm surviving. I hope everyone has a great day. Bye for now ![]()

Hey IW, you are doing great girl!!
Nikki, how's induction treating ya? Man, going without caffeine is TOUGH! I'm not doing to great here challenge wise. I will try to post more about it later when I have some time. We have all but one gift bought, all our outside decorations up. Inside ones are a different story. I haven't even put the skirt under the tree, which is half decorated. I don't know that I will get more than that done! Oh well, we don't mind. The cat is kind of bummed though. I try not to watch alot of tv anymore, but I LOVE "That 70's Show" and "ER". "Reba" and "Grounded for Life" are the other two I don't miss. I liked alot of the before and after type shows and HGTV, but haven't watched them much the last few months. I'm more likely to turn on the Animal Planet and see if "Emergency Vets" or "The Most Extreme" is on. "Animal Rescue" & "Animal Cops" are good too. But usually, I will pick a book over the tv.

I'm still around...just still busy. This time of year can get so depressing, especially when you have people to buy for and little to no money coming in. I am sticking to plan and feel good about that. I don't know why I don't have a problem with cheating. I think it is because I made the decision that this was a forever life change when I first started. I really don't miss any of those old foods. If there is something I crave...I search until I find a good replacement. This year will be so different for Christmas because I don't have the money to cook all of the wonderful things I usually do *shrug*. People will just have to understand I guess.
DBF is back to work but the poor man is soooo depressed too. My car and dd's car both decided to get "sick" at the same time. Of course, DBF, being the man that he is, thinks he should be able to take care of literally everything. Like dd says.."He's not God". Anyway, I know we will get through all of this. We are all survivors. There are people out there in much worse shape and I have to remind myself of that and be thankful. I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know that I miss all of you and think about you daily. I hope everyone has a wonderful, loving holiday season. Keep on keepin' on and I will be back soon. It's just that time of year when I am so swamped with keeping the kids, taking care of mom, etc etc. Anyway.... Happy Holidays to All!!!! mel

Hi everyone, I'm having one of those days! Zoe is runnig rings around me and I'm very tired already. I promise that I will post more tomorrow, but right now I can hardly think straight let alone give sensible thoughtful replies to everyones posts. I'm also feeling sorry for myself as I'm up 7lb even though I've stuck to Induction. Yes I weakened and weighed myself) I know that It's probably water as my ankles and feet have swollen up so badly, I can't get my shoes on.
OK I admit it, I'm in need of some Nikki |

Another 1.5# bites the dust. Yeah!
I've had some funny stuff happen in the last couple of days. On Sunday, we had our annual Christmas Cantata at church; our whole family sings in the choir. We were all supposed to dress in black, or in very dark colors. I was pretty proud of myself; I'd bought a black velvet dress with rhinestone studs scattered throughout at a thrift store last March. It was *way* tight, back then. Sunday, it was nearly too loose! I'd found the perfect shoes to go with it. But I forgot to buy pantihose. I rarely wear dresses. I dug through my drawers; it's 12 miles into town, one way, so running in quickly to buy a pair was out of the question. Well... I found an old pair of black hosiery; size 4X. I had to put on a pair of underwear *over* them to keep them up! Every time we stood for a new song, I was afraid the hose weren't going to stand with me. And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming! |
