I got my first WHOOSH of the challenge
I'm down 4 pounds!! That's a total now of 53 pounds I was so good on Thanksgiving that I was hoping for a good drop. That also puts me in the 280's I can't wait to get below 250!! That's my next big goal, 249! That's 37 more pounds so I doubt I'll get there during this challenge, ( I lost 30 on the last one). But I'm feeling good and determined, though stressed over work. Hang in there everyone and talk to you soon ![]()

Awesome Patti...you're just melting before our eyes. I can't access your pictures, because I'm not techinically in the challenge, but I'm sure they show a big difference. How could they not? You go girlie.

Thank you Carey
And thank you Jax, I'm glad you could see a difference in the pictures. I may be melting Carey but I'm still impatient lol Though now that people are noticing it's better. I really thrive on possitive feedback so it really keeps me legal. ( That and fear of falling off the wagon and not being able to get back on.) If you want I can post my before and afters here too. I hate them of course, but I do see a difference. I think with a better camera it might be better too, mine is a phone camera and takes unflattering pictures even of thin people! I'm now getting myself motivated to get though all my Christmas baking. ![]() |

Ack!! X-mas baking, who wants to think about that??
I have skipped over it for a couple years now, and I have been hearing the complaints this year. So I'm drafting my oldest DS to help with the majority of it. He will, as long as he gets to lick the spoons! Better him than me!!!Luckily, there is only two of the four of us that eat that stuff, so I don't have to bake alot, just a small variety. As far as the challenge, so far so good here. I'm trying to stick to the basics and so far I'm doing ok. Really paying attention to when I'm hungry and not whether it is just "time" to eat. Glad to hear that everyone is doing ok so far. Have a great day!! ![]()

Patti you are a star! Another 4lbs. Congratulations. I could definately see a large difference in your pictures. There is no doubt in my mind that you will succeed, probably sooner rather than later to reach your goal.
Jax; At least this year you won't be tempted to wrestle your kids to the floor fighting to lick the spoon. Or will you! No of course not. Why risk all that hard work you've put into your WOL. Still you're braver than me to actually do some proper high carb baking. I would be the one licking the spoon. Bree: Don't worry about not being able to post often, we know that you will post whenever you can. Congratulations in getting back into ketosis and your menu is looking good enough to eat right off the page. Chewtoy: I agree exercise is very important for me as well, I certainly know when I fail to get off my butt, like you everything else slides as well. Today I have walked my 10,000 steps and had a 10 minute session on my exercise bike. NuttyNeeta: You eat what you know is right for you. If keeping to the same basic menu works then why risk changing it, though maybe a little variety can also be a good thing as well. The secret is in knowing when and what to change. I'm still workking on that one. Oh and I'm down 1lb since the start of the challenge. Nikki |

WooHoo Nikki! Congrats on losing that pound. I know how motivating that can be.
Patti...you don't need to post your pictures here unless you want to. They're in a locked thread for a reason. I trust that there are differences. ![]() Here's hoping you all have a great day! Keep focused, and DRINK YOUR WATER! ![]() |

Carey: There are very noticable differences between Patti's first photo's and her last set. You would be as proud of her as the rest of us are if you could see them. Then again I know that you are already proud of her regardless of whether you can see them or not.

Just checking in for a minute I have to take My Mom to the Dr and she just informed me that she told her boss she was taking the Day off which means I get stuck running her around.
She wants to get her Hair cut and to go to Super Wal-mart so who knows when I will get Home this Evening. I will check back in later. I have a Recumbent Bike but moved it to the spare Room when I bought the used Treadmill that does not work so I am going to take apart the Treadmill find a place that repairs them and move My Bike back into the Living Room to use while watching TV

WTG everyone who lost!!!!
I have been away since Sunday, and I will get back home this Sunday. I don't have my scale with me, so no weighing. I do think I have had a whoosh though. I am starting to "feel the burn" from cycling. It is not easy like on the first day. My legs ache slightly. I imagine this will go away in a week or two as the muscles start to grow. I have been good with food, no over-eating. |

I'm not sure what's happening but I'm sure glad! I'm down another 2 pounds!! That is 6 this week!
That's a first for me ever! I have been really busy though, so many that's why, and I'm hungry all the time Anyhow, because it came off all of a sudden I didn't even realise I was in the 50 pound club That's 55 total now and I'm so pleased. I'm fixing a big legal dinner tonight to see if I can kill these hunger pangs though, I don't know what's up.. But I'm very happy with the loss. Almost makes me want to take my measurments to see if they are changing too, but I'm too lazy ! Anyhow, I'm off to eat dinner. Roast beef, califlower and green salad with baby shrimp on it. YUMMMMM |

Debs: As far as I'm concerned you are part of the official challenge: you always have been Did you read Tracies post about Pm'ing her if you wished to join this challenge? I know that I send her a general PM stating the names of all of us who were in the last challenge; who wanted to be part of this one; just in case anyone, such as Christian, who doesn't have pm facilities open, or those; who may be very busy; such as yourself; in the real world, and could have missed that post.
NuttyNeeta: Guess whose eating a sugarfree jelly right now? Only I'm having mine for breakfaast! Quiggley: You will be able to WOO HOO your losses as well soon. Only yours will be in inches rather than lbs. Inch loss is at least of equal importance as lb loss; maybe it's even more important; as it is less likely to show a false reading, or fluctuate wildly.. Now there's someone here who deserves a post all to herself and I think we all know who I'm talking about. Nikki |

WOW PATTI! CONGRATULATIONS Now if you could let the rest of us into your secret, then Delta would surpass all expectations. Oh wow Nikki how sweet!
Thank you very much I am doing my best and this week has been a wonderful reward for those other ones where I was just as good with no loss. You know though, even after my "big" dinner I'm still hungry. Really odd. I know I didn't have anything off plan so I think it's my body's defense system trying to make me cheat because of the big loss this week. But my body isn't going to rule me, my lil ol head is, and I'm not going to over eat or cheat. Thank you so much again Nikki, that was very sweet and thoughful of you You made my day! ![]() |

Saturday Morning
Hi, All - Happy Weekend. So glad it's finally here. I have been working like a dog at work to get ready for a Dec. 17 deliverable we have. The next couple of weeks will be long and hard, so I probably won't be posting all that much.
I have been sticking to my plan, though. Exercising, plenty of water, lots of good-for-me food. Monday was a re-start for me after 3 months off (we moved cross-country to Florida just in time for the four hurricanes). Since Monday I am down 8 pounds! That is just the motivation boost I needed. For whatever reason, DH and I both seem to have a different mindset and a lot more determination for this than in the past. I think the idea of the challenge is really good for us. |
