Hi everyone,
ooooooh I wish we would get some snow!!! Well, my belly dancing dvd arrived (thanks Nikki !) but I havent had the energy to try it yet.I've had a couple of minor binges ,, nothing too major but enough to halt all progress.I'm thinking of switching to SB as it involves a lot more veg and fruit. I love Atkins. I know it works and I would recommend it to anyone but after nearly 2 years I think its time to shake things up a bit. I will keep DH on Atkins as he has no need to cut his calories yet but I know if I want to shift this last 10 I have to lower my fat. Wish me luck! I promise to report on how the belly dancing goes !!Hope everyone is happy and well, Lorraine xx |

Hi team! Yes I'm still around it's just that I'm in lurking mode for some reason. Maybe it's the fact that Zoe has had a spat of sleepless niughts recently and I'm exhausted. I'm staying on track and I have lost another 1lb since my last post.

Hi everyone,
I am feeling quite a lot better and I haven't added my coffee back in and I miss it, but I don't want to run the risk of hurting my stomach again. I didn't get to Curves today so I don't know if I had a loss. It was a busy day then I had to leave, so I hope I make it on Wednesday. I have brrn eratic in my workouts since November. Anyhow, food is pretty good. My carbs are fine, but my calories are a little higher. I hope that doesn't hurt my losses. I hope everyone else is fine. The goup is pretty quiet these days. Nikki did other people ever contact you? I hope you are all fine, say hi sometimes ok?

Hey Patti!! Glad to hear you are feeling better!!
It has been really warm the last 2 days here, melting all our snow. I have managed to get outside for a bit, which helped me shake off that hibernating thing I was getting. I did a 48hr fast this weekend. I wanted to go 72, but couldn't do it. This is the second fast I've done, the first one was before the 1st challenge. Apparently I will never eat a plain cooked egg again either. I had a small poached one when I came off the fast and got sick. Like with a headache and stomache, & it happened the last time I ate an egg too (wasn't fasting then). Just the idea of one now makes me feel .So anyway, I'm doing good here. Hope some other Delta members post soon. Take care of yourselves and have a good day!! ![]() |

Glad you said Hi Jax, it's awefully quiet around here. Even Nikki is quiet. Are you there Nikki? Everything ok? How about everyone else? Did they forget it was a new week?
I hope all of you are doing ok, and I'm sorry to hear about the egg problem Jax. There are times they upset my stomach too.. strange huh? |

Ya, it was a bummer about the egg thing. Weirdly, that is what I was craving...which was strange to start with.
I have been eating drained, plain full-fat yogurt lately sweetened with a little vanilla davincis. I know that there is alot of debate over the carb count but I figure the little bit I eat (1/2c.) shouldn't hurt me to much. I haven't had yogurt in a LONG time, so the craving for it kind of surprised me. I noticed that Nikki posted on the 24th in the old thread (before this one was up) and she said that she hasn't been getting much sleep lately. Hopefully she is getting the chance to catch up on that and that is where she is! |

Hi Delta!
Yes I'm still here, but I'm resigning as leader. Anyone fancy taking over? I need time to sort myself out, I'm going through a very bad patch of depression. Nikki |

Sorry to hear you are feeling down!Unless you are feeling to much pressure, you don't need to resign as leader. Take some time to get yourself better. As long as we know you are around we will be ok, even if you don't post much. |

NO way Nikki dear, we are here for you just like you are for us. If you need a hug here we are
I'm so sorry you are feeling down, and I can sure relate, but you are a great leader, and even leaders need a hand up sometimes. As Jax said, take your time and as long as we know you are here we're ok. And if you want to talk I'm just an email away. I know things can feel so overwelming at times, but we're in this together, this is our second challenge together as Deltans, and we are going to stay together We need you ( and I think you need us too ) Hang in there my friend, things will look better soon. ![]() |

Just checking in. I am sitting at home with yet another snow storm. This has been the snowiest month on record for our area. I have been getting my exercise in the form of shoveling. My body was sore the first couple of days but I don't feel the pain today. Amazing! And I will get more chances to shovel tomorrow when the snow stops during the night.

Maybe I worded my last message wrongly and give you all the impression that I plan to leave Delta or heaven forbid this site alltogether. I have no such plans I need this site, now more than ever. have to admit though that I am no longer following a strict low carb diet, and since relaxing my eating habits I have started to lose the weight again. Right now I'm concentrating on eating natural foods, organic if possible. Sugar and proceesed foods are out and home cooking is in. I've also kept up my water intake. I just wish to resign as leader, or to be precise the record keeping side. Now I've never told anyone here before but I have dyscalculia, which is a posh way of saying number blindness. I have really struggled with keeping track on everyone's stats, and it has really got me down. Patti has already kindly taken on the role of backup stats keeper, and for that I'm extremely grateful. Of course my computer crashing didn't help, but luckily I found my hand written copy of the original stats, which I sent to Patti.

Well, I'm glad to hear that eating-wise you seem to be doing better and getting a handle on a plan that works for you. I know that you were struggling with that issue before, so that is great.
Sorry to hear about the number thing, I'd never heard of it before. That must be tough. I'm glad to hear that Patti is helping you out as backup. I'm not good at using those number/chart things on the computer or I would help. Sorry. Your always going to be a leader around here no matter what. ![]() |

Good for you, Nikki! Sometimes you need to take a look at what you may be doing too hard. I know I've had to do a lot of that over the past few weeks.
Once again, I'm sorry I've been MIA - working full time, doing school full time and actually trying to get time with the kids and spice is REALLY hectic! I'm loving it (absolutely LOVE being in school), but it's a bit insane. Progress report here - I've gone from 139 (I was only 7 lbs from going back to my original weight before Atkins by 1/1 - ack!) to 125 this month. Not huge - I would have liked to see more (wouldn't we all?), but I'm pleased with it. I figure if I lose 10 lbs a month (which isn't an unreasonable goal..a couple of lbs a week) I can be at my goal weight before my birthday in December, which makes me REALLY happy! So, I think this South Beach thing is working pretty well for me. (It's kind of funny, because I'm still doing things a lot more Atkins then Southbeach in some ways, partially because I'm a little afraid of carbs in general - but the pressure being off seems to make it actually easier). In any case, I've had a month of success, no major set backs, and I'm keeping to my goals. I just need to decide when and how to add exercising back in (not that racing across campus from one side to the other in 10 minutes to get to class isn't exercise, it's just not enough). I have free access to the recreation center/gym on campus. I have a gym membership elsewhere, but I'm thinking going to the one at school might make things a bit more convenient, thus making it easier to commit to something. I was thinking about going early in the AM before class, but that is turning into prime study time for me (no one else awake needing Mommy Lisa). So I'm not sure. But I'll figure it out! HUGS to everyone else. I'll try to be more consistant, but I can't promise. BUT, when we start the next challenge (I'm assuming once we hit week 12 we'll start over?), I'm all over it! ![]() Eu
