I don't think age matters.
I've wanted one since I was little, but never had the courage to get one. I should just do it, without needing a reason I guess. I've thought about getting one there, but I think I'm going to do one on my back shoulder area. |

Hi everyone,
Got one goal accomplished this week, taking down and packing up the Christmas decorations. Any little accomplsihment in any area helps boost my belief in myself that I can accomplish anything if I break it down into small enough steps. This week I am mailing out a rebate coupon for our new stove. And filing away most all the 2004 bills so I will be ready to file. Doing all these things is just as hard as planning out my meals for the day, writing them down, calling them into my sponsor and weighing & measuring my food. But if I keep the steps small enough, I can do the next right action. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hi, all--
Sorry to be MIA; time's at a premium this week, but I finally have some extra time. I've lost a couple of pounds of water weight, but not enough yet. Congrats to the losers among us! I've met all my exercise and food goals; stuff's going good. I'm feeling great. I'm still on the meat fast, and for some reason, it gives me energy. I hope 43 isn't too old for a tattoo, because DH and I are both talking about getting one, too! I don't know what, yet. My shoulders are my best feature at the moment, so I'm thinking about getting one on a shoulder... but when I reach goal. The first thing I'll do when I reach goal... ya know, I really haven't given it much thought. I'll probably buy myself something to wear that isn't from a clearance rack or thrift store. Have a great weekend, everyone!

When I lose another 30 lbs, I want to go skydiving. I should be 57 when this happens and have a fear of open spaces, but want to attack this fear before I die.

I'm with you on this one Jax. I doubt if they could get me within 100 miles of the aircraft if I knew I was expected to jump out of it! I'm not a coward but I do have this yellow streak running down my back, called self preservation.
Time for another question I think. Is there anything that you are glad you can't eat now? For example, I used to try and eat a bowl of Alpen Museli every morning. Every mouthfull had to be forced down, but I kept eating it as I believed that by doing so I was getting healthier Nikki |

I think I would faint if someone tried to get me to jump out of an aeroplane!!!
But what a great ambition Mary! What don't I miss eating?? Anything low fat! I did weightwatchers for ages and I remember eating a low fat spread called Gold extra light I can't even describe the taste it was so vile but I used to think it was good for me!In fact anything low fat,,, it all used to taste so synthetic. Pleased to say I am down 5lbs this week and I haven't even been doing strict induction!!AND, not a drop of low fat spread in sight!!! I love this WOE and still find it hard to believe we can eat such yummy food and lose weight!!! Lorraine xx |

Forgot to say,,,I don't miss asthma attacks either.
Since I've been low carbing my asthma is much easier to control,,and I noticed over Christmas when I was on a carb binge I was really wheezy and breathless and having to use my inhaler loads more. |

Well, I never continuously ate things I didn't like. I'm happy not to feel the guilt I used to feel eating the skin on my chicken, butter instead of margarine, well marbled steaks, full-fat cheese...you get the idea.
And I'm happy not to have to at least try something because it's lo-fat or lo-cal. I never would try the fat-free cheese or olestra/baked chips. There are some things you KNOW are just wrong. One weird thing for me is milk. I always liked cold 1% or skim milk. Never any higher fat content. I didn't crave it or anything, but enjoyed a glass once in awhile. I remember liking it, but the idea now of drinking it makes me gag. Weird, I don't have that feeling about anything else I used to eat. Even if I go off plan, I NEVER drink milk. ![]()

HI everyone.
I sent my stats to Nikki, but since the start of this challenge I'm down 15 pounds and 12 inches. I am on plan and I should feel good about that, but I've been in a funk for 2 weeks. The place I have worked for for 10 years closed I think that is part of it anyhow. I'm not cheating but I feel down and too hungry lately. What do you guys eat when you need something legal? Patti |

Patti!! Sorry to hear you are in a funk. You are doing a great job on the challenge!! I'm starting a "meat fast" this week, but I am going to have a small amount of veggies, like 1/2 c. per day. Any tips anyone? My main goal is to cut down on sf sweetners because I'm just not getting anywhere here. They seem to actually make it harder to stay legal. Maybe it's just me. I do know that I just plain feel better keeping carbs very low. It's the first few days that drive me crazy. I did okay though last week staying on track. Had a little trouble over the weekend, but still did ok. It's been harder with winter and everyone being inside and home. I walked most days, and even did a few workouts. Hope you all have a great week!! As for legal treats Patti...I really like sf rootbeer or orange pop w/ a little crushed ice and cream. If you are doing berries yet, nothing beats mashed strawberries w/cream and a little splenda. |

I have totally sucked this last week. No exercise because of my busted ankle. Crappy food choices, but small portions have kept my weight down but I still can't get in the groove. Until yesterday that is. I saw my ex husband in a pair of spandex running pants and wished I was married to him all over again.
So, yesterday, I had taco seasoned hamburger, with lettuce, avacado and cheese. Lunch was sauteed cabbage. But between the two meals.. one of them has given me very bad gas and good laws.. the smell is killing me. So, I threw both leftovers away. It watered MY eyes...can't put others through it too yanno.Today my menu is: Breakfast: ground flax, 1 cup coffee Lunch: Salad, potted meat, cheese. Dinner: Chicken. Hey.. anyone wanna pull my finger?? ![]() |

Checking in!
Jax, I'm on a meat fast right now, and I do them quite often. I don't add the veggies at all when I do them. Take a look at my fitday link for the stuff I've been eating for the last week, but save yourself and DON'T eat tuna every day... I'm like you--I feel *exceptional* when I really take the carb levels down low. I get pumped! Patti, feeling down could cause emotional hunger... could that be it? on the loss of your job. |

Thank you to everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I do think part of this is emotional, being hungry I mean. I'm not sure how to deal with it except I ignore it as best I can and eat something legal. I do up my protein when I'm very hungry and I fear that could slow me down. I weighed at Curves today and I'm down another pound, and that makes me feel a bit better. I needed that boost. ( that's 65 total).
Finding a new job won't be easy. I work for non profits, mostly theatres and the economy isn't friendly for that. I think I'll have to go back to school or something and at my age ( 48) I find that daunting. I worry no one will hire me due to my age ( and weight.. ) But we'll see. I have a Jan. contract with another place that starts Wed. but then after that, it's poverty all the way. Anyhow.. my eating is ok I guess. Still hungry at lot though. I hate that. Sigh..

I wish there was something I could do to make things better, but all I can do is I have no idea how the work situation is over there, but I can say this. Don't be afraid about re-training if you have to, it could be the opening into a brand new exciting career.Thank you for your stats they have been duly logged in. So that means I can now account for IW myself and Stilltryin. I bet the rest of you are still searching for the tape measure! Nikki |

Well, day one of my meat fast is done. I did pretty well, it always gets difficult in the evenings but I managed. Usually my sense of smell comes back strong after a few days, but it was already back last night. The guys were eating oreos...all I could smell was sugar!! It gets sickening after awhile thankfully.
I think cutting my carbs back last week helped. I'm trying to really pay attention to my stomach hunger, not my brain hunger. Anyway...hope you are all doing well today!! ![]() |

I have gone to the mall several times lately and on the way in there is a Cinabon cinamon roll shop. It has been driving me nuts and making me want to cheat and eat something bad. I wanted something so bad tonight it was scaring me
then I remembered reading here about the pork rines with melted butter and splenda and cinamon. It hit the spot! Thank God because I was struggling. I don't know what's wrong with me. Hungry 24-7 and irritable. I still think it could be hormones. I just wanted to thank all of you for being here. This list has saved me more than once. I wish more of us were posting, but I know everyone is still around, busy and doing their best. I know I do better when I stay connected with board. This time it really saved me! ![]() |
