Thanks Lilgrnize,
I just don't want to cave. I have done so well, I had to make cookies for ds school and yesterday had to host ice cream party for students at my school. Not one bite Tonight - its seems like I am constantly being tempted - my ds has program with lots of cookies. Yikes.I will try to kill this appetite! |

When I eat eggs, I get hungry. Most people don't have that problem, but I do. I have no idea why. If I just eat just meat, I'm okay. I can even eat a little bit of hard cheese (not cottage cheese) and get the appetite supression. But eggs? I have to use them very sparingly like a condiment like tuna salad with tons of tuna a tiny little bit of egg. I may be the only weirdo that has that problem, but I have tested it and it is consistent. Eggs can make me hungry. |

Um, I don't think anyone else has mentioned this to you guys, but this looks almost exactly like the first 3 days of Lean for Life. LFL is based on lean meats, but when I did it, I used full fat and lost very very well. The first 3 days are "Protein Days", you eat only protein for 6-12 small meals throughout the day, as your hunger dictates. Then there is a Protein Day once a week after that. Just wondered if anyone realized the similarity?

However, if I were going to do it today, I would have stayed on Stillman's the whole time ... easier, less cooking/shopping, faster (shhhh, don't let Kdog41 read this!) The quantities of veggies I was eating wasn't enough to seriously contribute nutritionally ... IMO, of course. The downside for many would be boredom, but I'm not bored at all losing 4-7 pounds a week! |

Brrr, I'd avoid the pork rinds, they're very high calories and you can snack away more than you intended, LOL! You're close to goal, so it may be a calorie thing, but I'm concerned that you haven't lost "water" weight? Faith, go ahead and dig in! ![]() Msgirl, baking cookies and not sampling? You're a stronger girl than me! My hat's off to you! What are people planning to do after the "experiment"? Go to Induction? Stillman's? Dare I say ... Kimkins? Protein Power? South Beach? No starvation mode here! LOL
I'm gonna stick with this way of eating until doc says I can't. LOL Not that I will listen to him about this much this time anyway! As long as I am feeling good, this stays! Eventually, I will switch over to atkins, but not until most of this weight is off! I have at least 100 pounds to lose. Kimmer....just wanna tell you again...YOU ARE AWESOME! Kim |

Kimkins???? Share!! I'm very interested! I completed my 3 days, and had lunch out today to celebrate a co-workers birthday so I prepared to break my fast. When we got there I wasn't hungry so I ordered a grilled chicken ceasar salad and ate about 2 oz of chicken and maybe 6 bites of salad. I'll be interested to see later how this effects my ketostix which for the first time ever were immediately dark purple this morning! WooHoo!!!!!
Okay Kimmer...fill me in on Kimkins now! Enquiring minds want to know! ![]() |

Sounds great to me....is there a challenge board for this already? Do we want to keep posing on this one ladies or where do we go from here? I definitely plan to stay with this until I reach my goal - I just haven't figured out what exactly that is. I guess I'll know when I get there!
Kimmer I too can't begin to thank you enough! I can't tell you how many times I've gotten discouraged and given up because I'd hit that 140 lb wall and no matter what I did it wouldn't break down - until now! I have a whole new resolve to see this through and to make this my lifestyle from now on. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything because I'm not starving. And if I do reach goal and broaden my horizon to include a few legal treats (not the store bought stuff), and I gain a few lbs, I know exactly how to get it back off.

Kimmer, was back up .5 lb this morning, but know its the water...real puffy in the fingers and around the eyes...I really started unloading the water last night, but back to the bloat this morning! I'm really watching my salt intake, and don't touch lunch meats, commercial sausages, and have cut out the bacon now, even though I only do low sodium bacon and in very small amounts-no more than 1-2 slices in a day, and rarely 2 days in a row. I've been struggling with the water retention for years now, but no dr. been able to come up with an answer and just treat me like I'm a psych case now, so I'm just trying to find answers myself. The only possible culprit a dr. has come up with is my birth control, but I'm not willing to give that up yet.
I wasn't suffering from constipation (as far as discomfort) but haven't had gone in 3-4 days, but I know my body, and knew things would start moving on their own (I suffered from chronic diarrhea before I began this woe-I literally never finished a meal without having to take a bathroom break! But that is under control now.) I now may go a couple days, but when it hits, it's a major event! Well....it just hit a few minutes ago, so maybe I'll see a little movement on the scale now...of course I'm sure everyone else in the office doesn't appreciate my presence too much right now!!! Oh, well, I feel better! |

Kimmer can you please answer a question for me?
You may have addressed this and I may have missed it but what do you take or do to stay regular? I don't like going more than a day or so without "going" if you know what I mean! I think I read a long time ago you took something everyday but I don't remember what! I have started the meat fast but I am feeling almost on the verge of constipation. Thanks ahead of time for your help! I am trying to get these last 21 pounds off by July my 2nd Atkinsversary!

Kimmer - Thank you! You really are so sweet - we have got to be driving you crazy! All these questions - so here I go!
1. I haven't been constipated actually the opposite! Still no loss. Wonder why? 2. No water loss either - I am drinking lots 3. I am so afraid my body has said - no more losing you are stuck here! Can I become resistant from doing things like the fat fast (April 3days) and this (3 days)? 4. I will move on to probably Kimkins - maybe induction - still waiting for some results with this to decide. 5. I have been eating maybe - 1 to 2 tbs. of mayo - just to add something to the eggs or tuna. Surely, I don't have to cut out mayo, diet coke, coffee? I don't want to give up everything! Thanks again for all that you do!

This is my first day of this "experiment, and even with only a half of day gone, I already have appetite suppression! Is this possible?! I ate 2 eggs for breakfast a deviled egg for a snack and at lunch I could hardly finish my hamburger! Wow! I'm hoping that I see a loss on the scales, but TOM is coming, and I usually gain around this time.
I plan on sticking with this for at least a week and see what happens. If I lose, I will stick with it as long as I can, as I have approx. 37 pounds to lose (at least!). NWLoser - I'm not Kimmer, but I take flaxseed oil capsules, and they help me stay regular (if I'm having a problem). Also, you can just swallow some flaxseeds with some water, and they act as fiber. Good luck! -Michele

I was hoping you wouldn't say that. My calorie intake Mon(1st day) 1350, Tues (1200) today so far 550.
I want to cut calories but, I get really hungry when I do. When I get to goal am I gonna have to stay at 1000 - just to keep from gaining? I know I don't have a lot to lose and I shouldn't obsess over this but, I just want to see results! Thanks again! |

well, today is day 3 for me. yesterday all i ended up eating was a hamburger patty, chicken breast, can of albacore tuna, 1 HB egg and over 150oz of water.
i weighed in yesterday at 194.0, today i weighed in at 194.5 i dont understand how i went up in weight, i went pee all night long and walked 30 minutes last night and jumped rope several times yesterday, which i never do. my old scale was down a pound but my new, more accurate scale was up .5 pound. ugh. whatever. im not giving up. i just ate a hamburger patty. im gonna add a few extra HB eggs. maybe i didnt eat enough yesterday, but i just wasnt that hungry. kimmer, im a male and we are supposed to lose faster i thought. help me!!!!!!!!!! lol i still wanna know why i lost so fast both times i only ate tons of brown rice, black bean soup and applesauce for 10 days. i lost 15 pounds both times i tried this in 10 days. i do feel that "lighter" feeling though like im losing weight, but that darn scale says im up .5 from yesterday and i ate not that much. |

Day 3
Well, today is day three. I was down 2 lbs on the scale this morning. I am trying to decide if I will stay on this for a few more days or move to induction. Also, Kimkins sounds interesting but I am not sure about counting protein.
Todays menu I had 3 cups of Coffee today!!! Thats a lot for me. 2 with davinchi syrup and one with fiberfit no cream b. 2 scrambled eggs cooked in bacon grease and 2 sausage patties and 4 slices of bacon. I was surprised I ate all of it, I was full but not stuffed l. chicken breast d. 5 oz round steak and 1 T mayo s. 7 pepperoni chips Turns out that I had 6 carbs today according to fitday. and 1524 cals. I hope I dont see a gain on the scale for going over 1500 calories! That would be a real bummer. I am in trace ketosis but will see what happens in the morning. robyn

I might be wrong, however I believe you must take your weight and times it by 10 to get your maintance calories unless your doing ALOT of exercise. I really think if you want to see the scale move you need to drop the mayo for a while. RRRhan you might not want to cook in bacon grease, I remember reading from LCMW Kimmer use to take about using the least amount of fat possible and alot of people would use PAM spray to keep their calories low. I hope I don't sound like the fat nazi, it just seems like if we want to see the best possible results ever, that we should follow the basic priciple of kimmer's Meat and eggs only, just enough fat to cook, eat only when hungry The losing is amazing! I'm smiling ear to ear at everyones success! ![]() |

MSgirl where in central Texas? I live in Copperas Cove near (Ft Hood & Killeen)
I have been following this thread but not doing the meat thing because I started the Kimkins challenge in March lost several lbs quick then nothing, but started to exercise stuck with it though and did get upset about not losing. I started to just cut back my 3 cups of salad a day after reading this thread and today I at 3 bites of veggie at lunch and only 1 chicken muffin(usually eat 2) then for dinner still wasn't very hungry so I just had a 4 oz chicken breast with 2 slices of cucumber that was all I could eat. By the way this morning I finnaly showed a 1lb loss. I am ready to crowm Kimmer as a goddess or something.

I take milk thistle as a spectacular liver protector! In European hospitals, the ERs administer milk thistle for those who have eaten poisonous mushrooms (apparently it's a fairly common situation). I would imagine they use huge doses, but the point is that the people don't die. Milk thistle actually helps repair liver tissue! I buy a big 180 capsule bottle at Wal Mart for $14 and I take 4 a day (2 & 2). Do a web search for info (and no toxicity!) I suppose I'm even more impressed with milk thistle because I have had a life long 'regularity' problem ... no longer! |

THF, wasn't it just a few days ago with the Carl's Jr incident? Remember it takes 4-7 days to process a 'carb out' ... be patient, you'll lose and it will be a several pound WHOOSH! Jenks, LOL, no, no, not a goddess ... but you can stop by for housework anytime! ![]() Rrrhan, you do what feels right for you! There's a zillion programs out there (or maybe you want to design your own???) The reason for my protein counting was to make sure I got enough in ... I had no appetite and didn't want to eat a bite! Question: if you weren't hungry, why eat so much for breakfast? Nosey, I average between 40 and 70 now, depending on whether it's a high fat (calorie) day or a lower fat (fruit) day. During the summer it may get even higher because I focus entirely on all the fruit in season and grill constantly! Photogurl, I love it! Kimkins truly does remind me of my sons. Msgirl, there's no need to focus on calories. Eat as much protein as you need to stay full and wait for the appetite suppression to come. It's not a feeling like you just ate, more of a "nothing really sounds appealing" feeling (with a dash of nausea!) Congrats all you "losers"! |

Ok, I'm in!
Starting this tomorrow through the weekend (prolly though Monday). I'm very excited about this I think that my carbs may be to low and that I never really got into deep Ketosis on Induction. I still have hunger issues and cravings so I am hoping this will help and give me the jump start I need. No wait, I KNOW it will help and give me the jump start I need. Thanks to everyone (especially Kimmer) for all of the great info. I'll see ya all on the challenge thread tomorrow. |
