The package says REAL crab meat (3 servings per container) w/ no carbs, 11g protein, and 220mg sodium. Is that too much sodium. I made my menu for tomorrow as follows:

B-chicken breast w/ 2 scrambled eggs cooked in Pam

S-2oz crab meat

L- Spare Ribs

S-2 oz crab meat

D-Hamburgers w/ 2 scrambled eggs

Does this look ok? Too much or too little. I really want to get this right.

P.S. Can the foods be fried?

Me too!

I knocked myself out of ketosis with Dreamfields last night and I have been miserable today. Even though I have eaten good and on '72 induction today, I am still hungry. I need to detox!

Food choices look perfect! Yes, so ahead and fry just not go nutso on fat calories. Eat all the protein you want/need ... watch what happens!

Karma & Traci, you read the entire thread? You gals need a hobby!

Karma, the headache is part of the switching from sugar to body fat for fuel. Same deal as Atkins Induction (headache, tired, cravings, whining ... oops!) Give it 2 days and you'll feel GREAT!

I've been doing a straight meat/fish/egg diet for the past two weeks. I cook things on a griddle with no added fat whatsoever, drink 3-4 litres of water and about half a bottle of Diet Coke per day. I tried drinking black coffee with just some Davinci but it gives me dreadful headaches (the same way "straight" Splenda does), so I went looking for other options.........and for the first time in my life I tried s/f Red Bull......... Needless to say it went down a treat and I started having two a day.

The only thing I put on my meat/fish/eggs is a dollop of Walden Farms 0 carb BBQ sauce and Bleu Cheese.

I have no appetite whatsoever, sailed through TOM with no hunger pangs/cravings and I'm definitely peeing for Britain, but.............no change on the scales whatsoever. Having said that my raincoat (I use that instead of a tape measure) is at least one size bigger and there's no question my body has shrunk big time.

I take a multi as well as CLA and a couple of other vitamins/aminos.

I still have one Red Bull in the fridge so I'll finish that today and, come tomorrow, I'm starting the 3-day challenge. This means: no more Red Bull and no more Walden Farms sauces and see whether that makes any difference to the scales.

Claire (in pre-Red Bull shock......)

Exactly! Eat as much as you like, drink as much as you like and absolutely use protein as a snack! I like steak chunks, tuna salad or fresh hard boiled eggs (don't like 'em cold ...)

Participants last time had really good losses by Day 3. Wait, watch and be amazed!

Kimmer: I found that I was eating way too much fat -- so I'm cutting back AND I find that I am not missing it -- cuz I'm in ketosis -- but my question is this?

If I start taking CLA -- don't know if I need to -- but if I did -- do you think that will bump me out of ketosis? taking 4 or 5 gelcaps a day?

Peace and Namaste

I found this thread yesterday and have been skimming through it and decided to try this three day experiment starting at lunch time (as I had already had breakfast with cheese). I've been bouncing around the same weight for quite awhile now...but today, I am finally down a pound!! Not only that, but I also slowed down my workouts to just walking and 40 minutes of weight training yesterday...so I'm trying to figure out what really got the scale moving...was it cutting my carbs way down or was it slowing down my workouts? Or was it both??!!?? I will continue doing nothing but walking while doing this experiment. And if the scale keeps moving downwards, then I know my workouts were probably a little too intense.

Okay today is day today... yesterday morning when I stepped on the scale it was up to 188 and I was so upset. TOM had just been here, I had been over eating (legal foods but still to much) and hten I caved and ate Pizza with Dh So yesterday I jumped on and started this Challenge. Today I am down to 185, I am in Ketosis, and feel like a million bucks. I decided yesterday that I am giong to do this for the 3 days and then re-evaluate how I feel. If I am feeling good about it I will continue on. I would LOVE to do this the whole Lent season, but if I can not do it for that length of time then I will be more then happy with doing it the three days or more that I do succeed at.

Kimmer, thanks so much. I had no idea that this thread existed and I am so pleased. I am going to get to my goal... I have come to far (160 pounds) not to....

John,

Some people never show on the sticks..and ARE indeed in ketosis! You can also look for the signs of ketosis as a guide

Dragons breath, strong smelling urine and or sweat, lack of appitite, more energy..and last but never least..loss of inces and or lbs.

Also..ketosis is not the key to loss. Yes, Atkins does want you in ketosis..however..many very successful people and other plans ARE low-carb and do not have you in ketosis.

We're all working on healthy eating and weightloss..let the sticks be a tool..never the rule

But Hard Boiled Eggs, or any eggs for that matter do have carbs, albeit low but they still have them.

Thanks Lisa Rae. I've always felt like there must be something wrong with me to not be able to be in ketosis when Dr. A said it has to happen. I didn't know you could be in ketosis and not show on the stix. I have never done anything as draconian as the meat and egg fast though. I've always eaten cheese and dairy if I totally eliminated carbs. This should be interesting.

Again, thanks for the info.

I never even count the carbs in eggs. Never have. I'm almost thinking they don't have enough carbs in them to really matter, do they?

I forgot to add in my other post that if I still continue to lose doing this, then I'll know not only were my workouts too intense but my carbs were too high as well...

The protein didn't do it, the lack of carbs did ... try your menu with toast & hash browns, no go on weight loss.

Congrats to you!

They have .6 per large egg. Eggs are actually two thirds fat!

During my weight loss phase I counted every carb ... eggs, coffee, tea, diet soda, cheese ... all the "little" ones because they sure add up fast!

For purposes of this experiment, skip the .6 carb count.

I've never bought the sticks (I'm too cheap and too obsessive-compulsive), but others have said that there are different types of sticks and maybe some have bought those that measure sugar instead. Dunno?

Truth be told, the fats won't interfere with achieving what I term 'real' ketosis, but they will affect weight loss for our short three days. Such a good sport you are!

Additionally, some have posted that those who exercise a great deal burn off the ketones they're producing and have nothing left in their systems to register on sticks. Seems awfully complex.

Hey everyone!
I have been doing something very similar to this. I did Stillmans for 2 days and yesterday started eating fattier meats but still no veggies, cheese, etc. I may have over ate yesterday I had about 8 oz worth of hamburger meat and 14 wings!!! I am embarrassed to say I ate that many! But that is all i ate ALL DAY. My hunger hasnt completely gone away but its different. I just dont feel the need to eat....I could, but I just dont need to. Also, any cravings whatsoever are gone. Totally. I dont care if someone would put a piece of cake in front of me, I wouldnt really want it.
I havent weighed myself at all but I am keeping this up til next friday when I'm going to visit my sis, then I'm going back to induction (just to make things a little easier) then hopefully right back on to the meat fast I also gave up coffee for lent so I'm only drinking green tea and water- no sodas.

My menu:
B: 2 hb eggs (Kimmer I'm with you- I LOVE them warm!)
L: skinless chicken breast
D: chicken breast- hb eggs if needed

Good luck everyone!!!

Alie
