I love my scale... I weigh in every day and it does not determine what mood I will be in for the day, i.e. sad or happy... If I'm up, it makes me eat more cleanly, cut out the sodium, drink more water. If i'm down, I feel a great sense of (nearing) accomplishment and it helps to keep me more focused. Weighing daily isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Glad you have restraint and balance, no pun intended.

I don't. If I was home, I weighed when I thought about it, which was constantly. The scale determined my mood for the day, my outlook.

Awesome post!!!. I was and still am controlled by the scale. I do not own a scale in my home due to the fact that I would weight at least every 5 min.!!! I weigh once a week. And, the number still determines my mood and my day. I think it is a process. I am still a work in progress, but I will not own a scale

Stats: no ideaaa what I weigh:)

Thanx for taking the time to write that thought provoking and honest post.

Ironically I rarely got on the scale for quite a long time during my months on Atkins. I KNEW...just KNEW this WOE worked soo I tried to relax and just LET IT WORK!

My old pattern was to get on the scale to determine my 'worth " also and I wanted to break that pattern...so..I only weighed myself maybe once or twice a MONTH for most of the time in OWL and pre maintenance.

Ironically when I hit my goal I started weighing myself once a DAY because I felt it would keep me accountable and keep me from becoming 'sloppy" with my eating. This has actually been working (for ME).

Sometimes, the SCALE WILL NOT MOVE no matter what you do and no matter how hard you exercise.

But you must remember that this is NOT torture, it is a well-needed chance to assess, appreciate and acknowledge how far you've come and what you need to do to get to the next phase. If it's too easy, you will not appreciate what you have had to experience in order to get where you are.
Amen and thank you.
I weigh everyday out of habit. No chance I'd ever let it control my feelings. It just doesn't make sense.
