My story...so far....

I started this way of life in May of 2003, half heartedly, but after seeing good initial results I dove right into it hardcore in June, working an outside labor intensive job in the corn fields along with this way of eating allowed me to lose weight fast and in great amounts. I at my greatest weight was 425 lbs. Being 21 and standing at 6'6 I was able to hide this weight, but it turns out the only one I was hiding it from was myself, and I grew tired of it, becoming often depressed. I became embaressed and my social life and love life or lack there of sunk through the floor because of it. I have always had a great personality, was even voted best personality in high school, but that doesnt get you too far with the ladies when you are at my weight. Along the journey so far though I realized that I wasnt doing this for any girls or any friends, I was doing this for myself. I have stuck to the plan 100% and stopped all beverage drinking besides water, an occasional crystal light made with splenda, or tea or diet rite, and I mean occasional. I follow allowed foods only, no cheats, except an occasional sugar free choc. or atkins pancake, and I stress again occasional. I weighed myself 3 times before I had the courage to post my initial weight and current weights, the 1st two weigh ins were between 270-280, the 3rd weigh in was at 315, so I dont know which scales to believe, all 3 weigh ins on diff scales so Im guesstimating around 300 maybe in the 200's. But as u can see in a little less than 8 months I have dropped between 120-140 lbs according to which scale you use. I am a big frame guy too so being 6'6 and around 300 still looks good on me, but I have a ways to go. I want to thank Dr. Atkins right here, and all of you for the support and means to make myself feel better than I have ever in my short life. It doesnt matter what the number on the scale says, it is how you feel. I know now why all you people come here and follow this way of eating, because it makes you feel good about yourself, what I was desperately searching for. I have around 70-80 more lbs to lose but I know now that I can and WILL do it this time. This man, Dr. Atkins has changed my life without ever knowing me, I owe him alot. I owe him my life being brought back to me. Thankyou all, you are all good people, and that wont be forgotten.
