If You Fell off your plan

how did you manage to come back? What was the turning point? What plans have you put together so that it doesn't happen again.

Basically, I want to know this information to help myself and others who are going through the same thing.

It was a very hard struggle for me. I had told myself if I had to eat like this and excersise everyday for the rest of my life then I would rather be fat. When I told my husband, he said "that is the dummiest thing I ever heard". He was real with me. He told me that I needed to stop feeling sorry for myself and get my act together. Even though I would excersise here and there it took me about a month to actually get up and get going. I had to take time and prepare myself emotionally and mentally. I took time to make up a plan for success. Something I can refer to each day to keep myself in check. I went and bought the book "Atkins for Life" to read. I made sure I had enough support around me...family, friends and you. I have special rewards set up so that each time I reach a goal I have something to look forward to at the next goal. When I reach my idea weight. I am going to have an all out celebration. Also I plan to do something very, very, special for myself. I just don't know what it is yet. But I'm going to go broke doing it!!

The main thing that I had to change was my eatting habits when I went to resturants. I will now be more prepared and picky about where I go. I am also going to call ahead of time to ask about making special request on how my food can be prepared.

Anyway that is my story. I started on Monday and I haven't looked back. I will not forget where I came from because I will use my previous experience as my foundation....I will grow from it.

Congratulations on your decision. Your husband sounds like quite a guy - and you deserve a lot of credit for listening to him and doing what's best for you.

I haven't gone off plan since I started, but for 15 years I was in denial about my horrible eating habits and sedentary lifestyle. My husband would beg me to exercise with him, but I always had some excuse not to move my booty. If it helps anyone out there to hear this - once I started exercising and low carbing my life became so much better in so many ways. My husband, who never complained about my weight, has a new respect for me and compliments me constantly. He tells me I was beautiful before and I'm beautiful now, and he really admires my determination. I feel more confident in everything - my job, my parenting skills - everything.

I'm not trying to say that I don't have any problems. Weight loss will not solve all of life's problems, but this woe is definitely the best decision I've ever made and I'm so glad I did it.

I have to honestly say i have no plan, if i go off plan i just get back on- point blank, I am not a die hard lowcarber or a very strick one at that either, I do PP which is more go with the flow than Atkins I guess in the end being on planing , staying on plan, going off plan is a personal choice, just as forceing oneself to get thier butt back on plan, when i do go off, i never consider it a cheat, just a meal point blank.

Mz_Desz:

I agree with Julie that you have a wonderful DH. I do too, and mine has been upset with me for not getting refocused, and back to the plan of losing.
Of course, he does it in a loving way.

So, I decided he was right, and Monday I am getting started back on induction.
This will allow me time to prepare mentally, and emotionally to do what is best for me.

I think no one can make us succeed except ourselves, but we are lucky to have supportive spouses on our side.

Good Luck!!
