I will make my conclusion after I take the bottle.. I still don't understand that if this is to reduce body fat.. Why are you not using any pounds??? The only answer I can come up with is it turning it into muscle???? ![]() I do not want to look at my scale anymore.. ![]() |

The NOW brand is also very good, and much cheaper online (and you can often find it in healthfood stores, if you don't want to pay for shipping ).
CLA comes from beef, and we used to get plenty of CLA in our diet from meat and milk and cheese that were raised properly. This means raised on pasture, not crowded into feedlots and fed grain. Grassfed beef and dairy have much much higher levels of CLA than conventional sources that are fed grains. ( Corn is no better for beef than it is for humans--in fact it's a lot worse since their digestive systems weren't designed to handle grains. So grain-fed animals have to be given lots of antibiotics and hormones, and the residues end up on your plate). You can still find good, natural sources of CLA if you buy grassfed beef, pastured cheese and dairy. See eatwild.com for lots of great scientific studies and sources of good meat. There's nothing wrong with supplements, but nutrients always seem to be more effective when they come from whole foods. It's worth searching out grassfed dairy and beef. Ok, now I'll get off my soapbox! Last edited by tiva; 06-15-2003 at 12:38 PM.. |

I just wanted to say that I am down another 1/2 inch in the same same places since I made the original post!! *Yaaaay* -
Im anxious to hear how you all do with it. I didnt notice results for I think 2 weeks so dont get DISCOURAGED if you dont see it right away- Also, another user was saying that its REALLY beneficial and expedient for people who have hypothyroidism which I think I have (havent had my appt yet) but that would make sense as far as my rapid results Good Luck!! So since this is an oil (linoleic?) do you quit taking your essential oil supplements or flax oil supplements?

hehe Vicky- Ok I will go back tonite and check my log for specifics. I quit measuring for a couple of weeks because it seemed like it was moving along slowly so I backed off not to discourage myself
So about 8 days ago (I think- have to check) I measured after not measuring for a couple weeks and it was quite a big inchloss so I was like *cool* (sorry So Calif girl lol) so 2 days later I decided to measure again for the heck of it and I was down exactly a half inch EACH in my stomach (across the belly button) my waist and my hips!! 2 days later tempting fate LOL I measured again and bam another 1/2 each place and TODAY I measured again and same thing ( I havent measured since my initial post 2 or 3 days ago) I have measured the arms and legs and havent noticed any drop there ( but Im very happy with the rest lol) it actually is starting to look like a stomach again! Please let me know how it goes for you- altogether Ive been using it about 4 weeks but Im thinking it takes about 2 weeks to start working |

I just wanted to add that according to the information on the Tonalin branded CLA, it is actually derived from Safflower oil. CLA itself is found in beef and cheese but you'd have to eat massive quantities to get the benefits of the pills. I think it said you'd have to eat 38 slices of cheese to get the same amount of cla as is found in one of the softgels.
just fyi! And, thanks so much OP for the tip!!!!!! I ran out to buy it ![]() |

I've also had great results with CLA. When I take it with Flaxseed oil, the pounds melt off!
Did anyone ever answer the question on if it can be purchased at Walmart or Walgreens?? Yes, it can! |

I just started taking this yesterday. I took two yestersday. Today I took 4. Tonight I'm having bathroom problems. Is this normal? I also take Fish Oil, B12, and B-complex. Could this be happening to me b/c of the combination of medicine? Today I ate a salad, baked chicken, green beans, and cauliflower.

Aimee, did you take all 4 at the same time? Itr could just be that you need to start with less and slowly increase. Some people do. I never had that problem, but then nothing seems to bother me!
I saw an ad for "CLA Plus with Clarinol" lurking in the upper left hand corner of LCFs (is that always there?) and thought I'd add the link here. I haven't read it all but it sounds interesting... http://www.netrition.com/pbl_clarinol_plus_page.html |

I might be wrong, but I think in order for Low Carb Friends to get the commission off any sales, people need to click on the affiliate link instead of the direct link??

I havent tried the one with Clarinol - only the pure Tonalin one , I DO take flaxseed caps daily as well -2 to 3 , I had no idea there was a corralation lol
I had alot of loss with 4 caps per day, I think Im going to go back to 4 instead of 6 as I dont see the difference in loss. I take the NATROL Flaxseed oil caps. There was a long article on green tea caps that also target the abdomin and hip areas (which I ran out and bought lol) so that helps too Im sure but the dramatic changes were with the Tonalin CLA. If I still have the article in my email about Green Tea I will post it for you guys- I take 4 of those per day |

I have been taking CLA now for 4 straight weeks - - lost almost 2 inches in my abdoment (upper) and 1.5 inches on my waist. Of course, exercise is really important when taking CLA. I take the liquid form - - 1/2 tablespoon every morning - - 1/2 hour before my morning routine.

Good Morning
Hi Marilole~ Sounds good to me. The timing of this for me is perfect. I am in the grips of TOM right now and by the time my shipment is received I should be back to "normal". Will do a new set of measurements and keep track for awhile. Hi Yvonne~Have you been taking the brand that is being advertised right now on the banner? Congrats on your inch loss. I love this site and all the wonderful information and inspiration from everyones progress photos. I need to be brave and figure out how to put on pictures on the site too...I love seeing everybodys progress and tranformation. I have always been allergic to cameras, but I will be brave. Thanks Jadee

Someone mentioned the importance of exercise when taking CLa... Yes, CLA is meant to be used with a good exercise program. It is NOT a magic pill. |
