Original Atkins was a product of its times. ANY fat was acceptable, including inflammatory processed oils and margarine, primal allows only natural animal fats and coconut oil and olive oil which are lower in O6. Original Atkins saw nothing wrong with artificial sweeteners, fake foods, soy, and allowed a gradual return to grains as your carb tolerance allows.

Primal is REAL, WHOLE food including dairy. Excluding grains and legumes. It can be but is not necessarily low carb. No processed food, especially no processed fats. No soy or peanuts (legumes), no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or coloring.
