Sugar is intrinsic in all vegetables and fruits (and other things).
It's important to read the label and see what the ingredients are.
What you don't want is added sugars.

does this mean that i shouldnt worry about the 2g of sugar in the balsamic vinegar?

The sugar in balsamic vinegar is likely added sugar, so you shouldn't eat it. Fruits have natural sugar, so they are okay in moderation. It's the foods with added sugars, such as cane sugar, corn syrup, etc., that are bad for you. If you want to sweeten your foods, you need to do so naturally with maple syrup or honey (honey in moderation). You can use the sweetness in fruits to add sweetness to foods, such as bananas or apples. Please note - sugar in fruit = more carbs, so you shouldn't have many fruits.

I personally rely on other flavors that are associated with sweet foods to give me a sensation of eating something sweet, such as cinnamon or cocoa power. If your goal is weight loss, then I believe you should cut out all items with sugar, including fruit.

I personally dont worry about the sugar content of the food item. Rather I look at the ingredients and look for things like; sugar, high fructose corn syrup, cane juice, honey, or anything else that sounds like sugar.
