Marika - Woot!!!! You are doing so great!!!

Jayne - I saw a couple of post where Seth Roberts (over in his forum) said he was taking his entire oil dose at bedtime back in 2009, when he was using flaxseed oil.

All - I was leary of weighing in this morning after getting into restaurant food last night, but all is well. I'm 191, so down another pound finally!

That is great news Marika and Key Tones! Thanks to key Tones I found the Seth Roberts forum just now. The below link about FAQ may be of interest.

It does mention that you can take your oil at any time and even all at once. I read that it doesn't matter if you take it at 10 am or at night because it doesn't work immediately. It gives an example that it may help the following day or so. So apparently some sort of build up. They also say it can take up to seven weeks for some!. I bet I'm one of those.

Oops forgot the link:

WJS - oh, yes, that makes sense! Thanks! The oil effect definitely lasts even though I forget to take my second dose...I remember Sunday saying the same thing that it extends days after she doesn't take it.

I went to a big 50th birthday bash. The place was overflowing with cheese and cheese dishes. I didn't do well with the cheese. Still, I am only up about two pounds today. It isn't horrible, but this is the second time I wasn't able to find appetite control around cheese.

What is this evil food???

I don't know why...I don't understand it myself. But when I do a round of hcg, the first thing people doing it say when they get to P3 (the stabilization part of the phase and not the weight loss phase ) is "I cannot wait to have cheese ". It is addicting, or something. I know when I cannot have it (like right now on hcg) I miss it so much and I cannot wait for the first day that I can have some. I wonder what it is that makes us do that? Hmmm Maybe something to do with "you crave what you are addicted to"? Which is a darned shame because I absolutely love cheese

KT- I have the same problem with yogurt. I was thinking of eating it with nose clipped next time I get a craving for it. So far on SLD there were only 2 days that I really craved it. So that's a success it itself (I used to eat a lot of yogurt before SLD). Hopefully your cheese cravings will go away.

It is crazy. For us hcger's I thought it was because we are no fat for so long. I mean EVERYONE on the hcg forum and who is in P2, says the first food they are longing for once off the no fat phase, is CHEESE. That or cream. So dairy is a big deal for a lot of people. But if you are drinking fat, hmmm I wonder

I'm back to trying this again. Yesterday was my first day along with cutting out diet sodas. It's worse than stopping smoking. Ugh!

I remember reading that dairy contains opium like compound and that's why it is addictive.

Ah, the cheese--it's a drug! I'll try to remember that.

Cfine - hang in there!!!

All - I managed to bolt up the hill today with unusual power and vigor. What the heck was it? I don't know if it was the ice bath (I had my first last night) or if it was the flaxseed oil (I took a dose nose clipped last night - blech! The stuff is bitter even if you can't smell it).

I mean, it was like wow....Both are supposed to be anti-inflammatory. I don't know what to think. Maybe it was the ice? I have a lingering case of bursitis in the hip, very very slight, but I can feel it going uphill. Not today.

But that doesn't explain the stamina.

?

I don't know, but wow, it felt good. I guess most people just feel good and powerful all the time. I kept up with the crowd rushing uphill to get to work. It was weird, and wonderful. Maybe it was synergistic, but I will now have to experiment to see if it was one or the other or both.

the cows that make the milk that make the cheese they DO get injected don't they? Or is it an ingredient that they add in the processing of the cheese?

You are absolutely right, non-organic cows get injected with lots of crappola (hormones and antibiotic). I thought that you might be implying to our hormones that make us crave dairy. That was always the case with me during PMS pre-SLD.

Cheese...my favorite food in the world. I always knew that LCD was for me because I could still eat it. I can remember the days when my mom would try to get me to eat fat free cheese. I'd rather eat toe lint.

I'm still here, guys! I've been quite bc I've been holding on for dear life trying to stick to my plan and not feeling like I have anything positive to share. Sigh... BUT I am feeling a little better about it today. The last three days I have managed to stay on plan perfectly and I think I am feeling AS, which is nice. Yesterday, I hardly ate anything, but didn't feel tempted to eat anything off plan, which is a relief.

My diet has become absurdly high fat. I should plug it into a tracker and see the actual numbers. But yesterday I had my 3T of flax oil, 2 ounces of cheddar, 1 whole avocado, and 2T peanut butter and probably about 6T HWC in my coffee. Very little food, but not terribly low in cals, probably around 1400.

I have been having my oil either during the night or, if I don't wake up to pee, I'll take it first thing in the morning. I hate waiting that hour for my coffee, though! This seems like it's been working out fine, but when I took it this morning, I had a sudden (hit me about 20 min after taking the oil) intestinal craziness. Hmmmm... I had read that your body should be acclimated within a few days as it just had to catch up with making the proper enzymes. But I have been taking the oil for at least two weeks now and have only missed one day, probably ten days ago. Now I'm gonna be a little scared to take it tonight. But I'm gonna...

Jayne- do you take the flaxseed oil with nose clipped. I ask, because if you get a tiny taste of it, it will not work.
Sorry to hear about the bathroom issues. I read that after few days your body will adjust, if not, you need to take some enzymes. I never had this reaction and I actually have the opposite one. Maybe I should switch to flaxseed oil from ghee to make things moving.

Jayne-I get the occasional intestinal side effect. I think I overwhelmed myself the other day with food I don't usually eat at the party. Hang in there!

All-I think the power and energy came from the ice bath. Not sure I want to keep doing those. I had the flaxseed oil last night but it was not a power morning. Maybe it was the anti inflammatory effect of the ice. Or maybe it was a fluke. Hmmm

Yes, I do nose-clip, well, with my fingers. But its weird that this flax oil has no taste at all. I thought that flax oil was supposed to have a strong taste, but this stuff really doesn't. I nose clip just in case, though.

I think I'm feeling the AS pretty strongly today. It's almost 3 pm now and all I've had is coffee and no real thoughts of food so far.

I, too, get a little bit of a stomach ache after I take my MCT oil. It's not anything severe though. Hopefully it will go away soon. Coconut oil makes me terribly sick.

Hi everyone. Good to hear about the successes. Today is starting my third day taking EVOO because it isn't possible to find ELOO here. I haven't noticed any AS yet. My weight is going up as well but it is expected to go up a little after a juice fast anyway. I did take my oil when I woke up in the night last night and made a mistake when swallowing and let go of holding my breath and got a quick taste so hopefully that oil wasn't a waste.

Will be watching the thread closely and will report how it goes for me. As I said before many things that work for others don't work for me (like the PHD) so will be keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi WJS

I find that the paleo diet helps to keep me from gaining weight. I lost a great deal slowly on low carb before I implemented it.

Hang in there and please keep us posted

Hello my oil drinking buddies!

I am trying something different today. My colitis is flaring up (with constipation) and want to stop the ghee for few days. I don't know for sure if there is any connection, it could be my binges prior to starting SLD that brought this one as I was noticing symptoms for the past 2 months that I kept on ignoring.
I am trying to do nose-clipped food today. I just had plain lamb burger (158 cal) with nose clipped. I only used salt to season, nothing else. I kept the nose clipped for 15 min after eating. I could not do it any loner, it was killing my nose. I brushed my teeth with baking soda, as I read it is allowed on SLD. I did not taste much besides little salt I just felt the texture of EVOO but no flavor. Hopefully I did this right. I am adhering to the 2 hr eating window. I will have the same thing in the evening. Will let you know how it works.
I might be switching to flax seed or walnut oil if ghee is the culprit. Ghee was great for AS so I hope it is not the ghee that is making me sick.
