A Question About Meat

I have a question about meat consumption, but first, a little background.

I have always been a carnivore. Three weeks ago, however, I stopped eating meat. It just didn't appeal/taste good to me anymore. About two weeks ago I stopped eating gluten/bread products and about a week and half ago I gave up all grains and beans.

I do eat fish, eggs, some dairy (mostly cheese, though I limit it and some yogurt...maybe once a week. oh, and butter!), vegetables, nuts and fruit.

After reading here, I am guessing that I am eating fairly primal. I'm doing great, feel good, and have lost 4 pounds (so far).

My meat question is this...should I start eating meat again even though I don't care for the taste of it? Or do you think I will be getting enough protein from the eggs and fish, though I don't eat either of them everyday?

Why push yourself to eat meat when you don't want it? Maybe you'll change your mind again in the future, but for now, plenty of people get enough protein via eggs, dairy, and fish. :)

If you're concerned, maybe you could track your protein intake for a couple of weeks, to see if you're eating enough for your lean body mass.

Thanks, Ntombi! I was really questioning it because I don't eat eggs or fish daily. Tracking it is a great idea and I feel pretty dumb that I didn't think of it!

An essential component of a sustainable woe IMHO is that you enjoy the foods you are eating. If you "force" yourself to eat certain foods it's likely that you will simply quit.
I also believe in listening to your body. If it is telling you "eat fish tonight, not meat" then I believe their is a sound nutritional reason for that. Mind you, this only works after we have eliminated the corrupting influence of addictive/toxic foods like sugar, HFCS, refined flour etc. But once we have been eating whole and/or healthy foods for awhile the body will "speak" to us regarding our needs.
I love fish, but I also eat meat.
Suggestion....I only eat organic grass fed beef...the taste is much better than the grain fed/hormone injected stuff and it is far superior in terms of nutrition.....Try it, you may find that meat is back on the menu

I do buy my meat from Trader Joe's for the family, but it's still unappealing to me. I tried some the other night and it tasted like dirt to me.

I will happily eat my fish!
