Wow! That is high. Ours is $150/month. Unlimited classes. Still expensive. But my son owns it and is my trainer. I get a good deal! ;-)
Well, I am trying to figure out how I can stick to this challenge for 9 weeks! I'm gonna need some sauces! LOL! I have friends coming over with their food processors! ;-) |

![]() But I probably wouldn't make my own ketchup or mustard since Simply Heinz Ketchup has the same ingredients and French's mustard is pretty close! ![]() |

The aminos I buy are "coconut aminos" and coconut secret is the brand. I get them at the same little store that also sells braggs acv, I would think you could order them if you can't find them locally. (We have a small grocery store that is more health oriented)
Look at the ingredients on the condiments you use all the time. A lot of them will be okay. I don't like ketchup, so I don't worry about that one, but otherwise, the only thing I make on a regular basis is mayo to avoid the questionable oils (especially soy) and because I like it better. I make BBQ sauce when I want it, but I buy mustard and I usually buy a horseradish (from the refrigerated section) that has good ingredients. Don't forget, the things you make yourself won't have preservatives so the shelf life will be much much shorter if they have things that are perishable. (like your mayo or BBQ sauce) |

Kelly - do you make your mayo with coconut oil?
I've looked for the coconut aminos, but haven't seen it locally. The Braggs was easy to find. |

I mix it up with my mayo depending on my mood. I mostly use light olive oil (you know, the refined kind without much taste) because it has a milder flavor, but I have used some coconut oil, or even bacon grease. The texture is funny (IMO) though if you don't have mostly a liquid oil. (So, like one and a half cups of olive oil and a half cup of a melted solid oil worked okay)
I use the recipe from Julia Child's original cookbook and it turns out perfectly pretty much every time. I buy coconut aminos because that's what I can find locally. Looking at netrition here though, it looks like the liquid aminos are about half the price of the coconut ones. |

Just realized, I never actually posted the mayo recipe...
Mayo (adapted from Mastering the Art of French Cooking) 2 egg yolks lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, or other vinegar mustard (optional) salt 1 1/2-2 cups of oil Beat egg yolks until they look thick and sticky, add ingredients except oil continue beating, eggs yolks should still look thick, very slowly drizzle oil in while continuously mixing, the mayo should emulsify. There are fixes in various places if it "breaks" but the only time that happened I just added stuff to it and turned it into a runny salad dressing. |

Is coconut allowed on Paleo? I have been surviving on its creaminess and I am worried that its too delicious to be good for me. LOL
They say its Omega 6's but didnt Dr. Cordain say Omega 6's are bad? |

Still doing OK. Been doing the higher fat, lower carb, medium protein. Meat/veggies/salad with occasional starches--sweet potatoes and GF pasta. Hardly any cheese, only mozzarella and goat cheese. Love this WOE. Not a whole lot of thought- just eat good stuff.

I've over the cravings. I had the carb flu pretty bad. I thought I would never be free.
Right now I am in a Williams coffee shop at school, not eating or drinking anything. The smell isnt making want the baked goods being sold. Rather. I'm like "Yuk" that stinks. I ate a small tiny can of lemon pepper tuna before coming here and I'm good. Yay!!!!! why am I here? Only place there was a table and an outlet free in this building. |

Hi guys
Is Paleo basially the same as the Primal Blueprint I have been reading about? I was atkins, lost 32 lbs then I tried JUDD and it was a nightmare of carb cravings and weight gain almost now back to low carb/atkins type but I have been checking into Primal Blueprint. Paleo seems almost the same in a way. Am I right in that assumption? thanks for any info |

Primal is easy if you think about it.
If it's advertised on TV or comes in a box, don't eat it! ![]() |

LOL ok. that makes sense definitely.
what about something like raisins? they are in a box I just saw a paleo detox salad on the internet. I made "my version" for lunch since I could not just jump right in and go whole hog. 1/4 cup fresh raw broccoli chopped fine 1/2 cup fresh raw caluliflower chopped fine 50 ML raisins 1 carrot shredded 1 oz sunflower seeds (I only had roasted salted this time, but will buy fresh) It said to use squeeze fresh lemon juice but I used 1 tablespoon of ranch. so out of it all did I do Primal 'kinda' ok with jumping into this way of eating? I am super stuffed and I feel almost healthy after eating it LOL
