That's great Speck! I can't wait to plant ours too. But unfortunately, we can't plant till June here. We usually end up planting 3 or more times and losing everything to the snow. Very short season here (June-Sept), but I'm going to make a good effort this year.
Still here, and still eating clean Mon-Fri, but I ALWAYS mess it up on the weekend. It's like I have no self control, and I can't help myself. Hubby tells me I do that cuz I don't want the loss bad enough. I don't know. I am getting discouraged though, because I keep bouncing around the same 4 pounds every week for like 2 months now. Why do I do this to myself?!?!

I can relate triple t. That's one of the reasons I started doing JUDDD. I also wonder if I sometimes sabotage myself because I'm afraid of being thin deep down in my psyche.

Hello folks! We're going primal around here, slowly but surely, so I thought I'd jump in and say hello.
Grocery shopping today - ouch! The other day I bought the e-book Well Fed, by the blogger of TheClothesMaketheGirl.com, and it's super inspiring. I'm definitely looking forward to exploring these recipes.... might as well make the most of these expensive, quality foods! |

Posted a mid week update for the Lenten Challenge. Still on track...food a little $ this week but will make it up next week.
The Lenten Primal Challenge Begins..NOW Haven't been doing what I should as far as exercise lately. Between the rain and doing Gramma stuff, it seems to have gone out the window. I did do a couple of squats in kitchen the other day. Need to do 500 more before end of month ![]() Hope everyone is keeping on. Dinner tonite is pulled pork (slow cooked) stuffed sweet taters. Can't quite figure out about the BBQ sauce for it. Will make my own using palm sugar I guess (Hubby doesn't care for my stevia). I'll figure it out. I always do |

I cooked a TON yesterday to stock my fridge with quick snacks and meals. Meatballs with pine nuts and Moroccan spices, sausage patties, chicken breasts, hard-boiled eggs, and I don't know what else. Still more to do, but I'm putting it off until tomorrow - sick of my kitchen right now!

Hee hee - I am pretty gung ho about this! It just makes so much SENSE to me. Mark Sisson is my new favorite celebrity. (I still love you, Bill Shatner and George Takei and George Clooney. I just love Mark Sisson... more.
)Dinner tonight was YUM - I made an Italian sausage seasoning mix out of the Well Fed cookbook, and made meatballs using that with local pastured ground pork and an egg, some parmesan, and a little almond flour. Then I cooked some onions, plenty of green peppers and green beans, and put it all in spaghetti sauce (jarred, organic, I will probably make my own in future but wanted to use it up). Turned out great! Tomorrow I'm going to be prepping a lot of veggies for cooking and snacking, and making some veggie dip, plus making a big batch of chili (Chocolate Chili from Well Fed) and getting a squash casserole going (Velvety Butternut Squash, again from Well Fed). I am definitely getting my money's worth from this cookbook.

I buy a months' worth of meat at Costco for that price. It's terrible that the good stuff (grass fed, etc) is so darned expensive. Consider growing a garden and/or visiting a farmer's market, ethnic store, or produce stand for your veggies. Usually the prices are better.
I thought summer was on its way here. But nooooo, cold, wind and rain today. Winter's last stand. |

OK I just weighed in and I gained 2 lbs! waaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... I don;t want to gain! I guess I need to go back and revamp what I am eating somewhere... I am hoping it's water due to TOM which should be gone tuesday... I will re-weigh in then and see....
I am cutting the dried fruits and nuts... but I am having a hard time eating eggs every single morning - and I guess I need to cut back on the bacon which I LOVE....but I am having a hard time finding the no nitrate other than being $7.89 for 1/2 lb urgggg how FUSTRATING

ALSO, I hold onto water mid-cycle and right around TOM. And Last but not least... did you eat corned beef last night ![]() You don't need to eat eggs every morning. Or just get more creative with it. I don't like eating food for breakfast. It's very unpleasant for me to eat within a couple hours of waking most of the time. My solution is to have an almond milk and raw egg shake (I pasteurize the eggs in hot water first). I also made a batch of "omelet muffins" I can take to work. Make a coconut flour biscuit and make an egg sandwich. How much bacon and nuts/dry fruit were you eating that you think you need to cut down on it? |
