Liver?
So, because I've read so much about how good liver is for you I decided to finally give it a go (though the thought of it grosses me out, but I'm trying to get over that). So I found some grass-fed high quality calf liver and bought it. I decided to do the hide it bit first, so put it in hamburger/tomato paste w/spices/zucchini.. since spegetti and it's replacements are one of my favorite dishes (no real spegetti just the zucchini). Anyways, the liver smelled pretty strong and even thogh I put only one slice of it in a lb hamburger worth of the above it still added a pretty obvious taste to my meal. I tried to eat it.. but it was not that good. I ended up giving up.
So my next idea is to take the above mix and make a lasanga style dish.. but again without the noodles. I bought pork instead of more hamburger to give it more flavor. I'm hoping that the cottage cheese will help mask the flavor.
So, are there any secrets to eatting liver without having to taste it?? Is it normal for liver to taste that strongly? It didn't taste like it had gone bad.. and since I didn't get sick I think its pretty safe to say it hadn't gone bad. Is it worth the nastiness?
