Fermented Soy?
 
So, I was wondering your take on "real" soy sauce (made with fermented soy) and Miso. You can buy organic and raw versions of both (I do raw when I can and it's something I deem safe.. ie I don't eat raw hamburger) but of course it's still a soy product. Some have the opinion that soy is ok if it's fermented and it's the processed things such as soy milk that are so bad.

Does anyone here use soy sauce or Miso or do you just avoid soy in all forms? I don't consume either in great amounts, but I know some Sushi places with amazing Miso soup. I don't eat sushi with soy sauce just out of a odd and old habit of mine.. so the commercial soy sauce is not an issue for me (I don't get take-out Chinese that often anymore either).

There is yet another fermented soy product. Natto which is whole fermented ssoy beans.
The smell and texture simply have to be experienced to believe. By comparison the worst
public bathroom you have ever ben in smells like a rose garden. And it redifines the term slimey!

I have never had that.. sounds like it's a good thing I have not, haha. I love Miso soup but soy is not high on my list of favorites though it is good in the right kind of stir fry.

Not a big fan of the Soy. I understand that most Asian cultures don't actually consume much of it, contrary to what we may believe. It has been generally used to return certain nutrients to soil for farming and not really used for any kind of "food".

In my opinion, soy = toxic and dangerous. From my research, I believe it increases the chance of breast cancer, among other ill effects.

Google, Dangers of Soy, and research for yourself.

And 95% of it is genetically modified thanks to good ole Monsanto.
